Uh no. I bludged my way through the whole year, started dedicating about an hour a week to typing trial notes around mid June, and then I memorised for about 4 or 5 days, prior to the exam, just reading over my notes. And I got an 85.

Exactly ! Hitting a 95 in the Chem exam is kinda nullified and reduced down to about a 88 all round, assuming that the 23rd highest score from your cohort is about 81. Its still a great mark, but not 99+

See dude, even if you grab a 90 in the exam for English, that'll be dragged down a fair bit by your ranking. If your school was in the top 10 say, I'd be more confident.

Anything is possible, but this is not :) English will bring you down pretty bad bro, you would've needed to be top 3 minimum in nearly all your subjects to get 99+ But no worries, if you absolutely rape the hsc itself (i'm talking 90+ in all your exams) its still possible.

Got 70s for English Advanced Was marked down by up to 10 marks all up because parts of my essay were illegible. :burn: fml.

Haha, how about you tell me who your friend is and I'll tell you if I know them. And I got low 70s in the English trial - ranked in the 30s/134; so my rank was bumped up alot.
