I had the same problem as you so i went through all the past papers and tried doing their calculation questions. I understand them a lot better now but still have some troubles. Only way to get good is practice really

I can't figure out how they got the answer for the following calculation question: 20ml of 0.08mol/L HCl is mixed with 30ml of 0.05 mol/L NaOH What is the pH of the resultant solution? A) 1.1 B) 2.7 C) 4.0 D) 7.0 I keep getting 4.0 however the answer is supposed to be 2.7?

I've found that after completing all the calculation questions from 2003 - 2010 (and still don't feel confident with them) the percentage of marks associated with calculations is around 10-18%. So if you don't do any calculations at all you still have the potential of getting a band 6
