    General Thoughts: Physics

Same, it was all writing and bullshitting - and no calculations at all? I was hoping for a few since they're easy and I skimmed over Quanta a bit lol. I was also hoping for standard model with the extended response but the one we got was decent enough. Do you guys know how each option...

    That tower question

This x100000000000 Still confused as to how B would stay in a geostationary orbit as some people are saying... wouldn't it need to have achieved orbital velocity relative to the earth to do that? If you look at Newton's explanation of escape velocity which includes orbital motion, a...

    transmission question

Re: General Thoughts: Physics ^But you need to use more power for cooling in C than you would lose in B, right? (My calculations were fucked so I'm not 100% sure on this)

    General Thoughts: Physics

Someone else asked her, I hadn't even told her my answer. So no. Edit: Oh, I see what you mean, you interpreted it as a question about the difference in the value of g. You probably needed to mention frames of references as well, you won't get 3 marks just for saying the earth isn't perfectly...

    General Thoughts: Physics

Was that the neutron one? You talk about how de Broglie's hypothesis about particles exhibiting wave-like properties and having a wave length, and because of that neutrons can be diffracted, analyse diffraction patterns etc.

    General Thoughts: Physics

I talked about how they would both appear to fall straight down from an observer on the earth's frame of reference like hit ground at same time, same acceleration etc (edit: assuming g = 9.8) but from a frame of reference external to the earth but stationary with respect to tower A, B would...

    General Thoughts: Physics

^Yeah more or less that... in shitty dot point form because I still haven't worked out how to pace myself in exams :P

    General Thoughts: Physics

Yeah I did that but I thought you had to convert between V and W which I did wrong... I'll get some marks hopefully cause I worked out most things and I did the P = I^2R thing

    Section I - Multiple Choice

Re: General Thoughts: Physics Omg this! I immediately crossed out the correct one when I saw "some" field lines or whatever it said, then picked the one about currents (B I think?) cause I didn't realise it said currents in magnets. :|

    General Thoughts: Physics

I fucked up that transmission lines question. Overall not that bad but my quanta answers were sketchy as well cause I skimmed over that a bit. Note to 2013ers: Don't study for physics in a couple of days.

Anyone else losing the drive/tenacity as their exams are almost over?

I've been having study gaps anyway but I gave myself a longer break after maths/german since physics wasn't until 9 days after. Plenty of time for a break, I think. I've also been job-hunting...

    Roughly?

I got the same mark :D and yeah I reckon mid 90s

ignore post was gonna ask something but realised I misread the question lol

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2

Same, most of my recent study went towards engrish

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2

^or because those ones appear much less often than say, cylindrical shells (or whatever the preferred volume is)

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2

then why call it a ranking?

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2

I don't know why everyone's saying the cutoff is 70ish - it's less than that in 3U so it'd make no sense for 4U to be higher. Also: see raw marks database thread.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2

I'm annoyed there was hardly any mechanics - it's probably one of my better topics. Whereas harder ext 1 would be my worst - thnx bos

    SOLUTIONS - Terry Lee

^doubt it, but fairly close I'd think

    SOLUTIONS - Terry Lee

I'm hoping my assessment mark will pull me up to an E4 but HSC mark may be just below. I think cutoff is around 65% going from raw marks database.
