seriously. stop giving f*** about top ranks or whatever. yes, it's pity that we didn't get them but that doesn't necessarily mean that we are not getting rewarded for all the hard efforts we put in. We will be rewarded through good UAI and in other forms such as great words of motivation...

There aren't really much of an independent reward for those who top the state for a subject. HOWEVER, topping a subject in the state will definitely give you that extra edge for scholarship, especially an academic-related one.
