Anyone who's interested in New Generation degrees for next year

Ok the answer to this question I have been asking myself for ages and on the 18/12/08 it was answered. Getting a 95 is a guarentee that you'll get into the MEng under a CSP placement (Basically where the government pays for your degree - You'll have this done for you with your undergraduate)...

So what do we need for uni ?

I'm just starting uni this year which is really exciting. Stop posting crappy posts. I want to know what to bring aswell. The person who started this thread does have a point with the back to school sales and even uni students should take advantage of this. Someone I know who did uni has a...

    Does NO math & science = <90

Let me put it to you this way; our dux of year 12 did no maths/science and got an ENTER of 99.50. I purely did maths and science because I'm strong there I really enjoy them. If you are wanting to do something at university that involves maths and science then you should do them, but, if you can...

    Which engo is best?

Re: 回复: Re: Which engo is best? Yes they do but not to the same extent as a mechanic. Working in a lab is easier to do (well in my case), but I do guess the stenches in organic chemistry aren't really anyone's cup of tea. Thank god for that. I was considering architecture but designing...

    Which engo is best?

I hope mechanical engineering isn't 'grease monkey' because I prefer more office style professions. I would rather wear a lab coat or suit than be covered in grease. Chemical engineering is more my style.

Anyone who's interested in New Generation degrees for next year

I reckon the melbourne model is great as the brilliance of it is all the opportunities involved with a single degree. I.e. doing Engineering via the BSc takes 5 years and you get international accreditation as an engineer (usually that long with uni's) or becoming a professional scientist (PhD)...

    financial crisis effect on Engineering

I really do hope that it does, as I potentially will be entering the engineering sector within 5 years! If that doesn't work out I'll go towards majoring in mathematics and go into the financial sector. As for science I really am pessimistic in what will happen here. Even though I love science...

    Failings of the IB

What I don't get is that if English is compulsory, shouldn't its scaling remain static? It really hurts getting 42's and a 44 scaled and then this DISGUSTING 28 there and a 42 becoming a 4.2! I compromised my results in my sciences to do well in the English exam and it smacked me in the face...

    does anyone not drink

Its the only alcoholic drink that I can actually drink! Beer I just have to spit out and the same thing happens with wine.

    does anyone not drink

You sound like the kind of person serving my kids fries on the way up to a skiing trip. Go away neanderthal!

    does anyone not drink

I have an occasional drink but never attend the party scene. I never attended the party scene because my VCE was more important and I never was really invited to any. I also have emetophobia (phobia of things associated with vomiting) and I know that drinking in excess leads to vomiting. My...

SPECTACULAR TUTOR - chem/phys/maths/life in general

Selling how to prepare for a UMAT would make a heap for you! Like I mean students who want a prestigous medical career would really pay anything for advice to ace a UMAT and also all the right things to do for an interview.

is adv science able to get a high-salary job?

Now this is a good response. Thanks! I have been thinking as whether I should do engineering or science. Parts of engineering that interest me are: chemical (love chemistry), mechanical (enjoyed the mathematical problems relating to mechanics in physics), Bioengineering, electronic engineering...

is adv science able to get a high-salary job?

You guys know what this person means. I'm sick of people like me and this person who put up this thread, being twirled around in mind games by people like you. He is wanting to know if doing science will actually have ANY benefits! I know exactly what he is meaning because I am on the same boat...

    Prerequisites

Raw is what is looked for as that actually gives what top % of the state you are in. Raw study scores are normally distributed with μ=30 and σ=7. i.e. a study score of: 0 → 100% of the state did better than you 10 → 99.8% of the state did better than you 20 → 92.3% of the state did...

    PhD in physics Vs Engineering

Sorry I should have added that chemical engineering is probably the field of engineering that appeals to me the most. As for jumping too far, I do like to have a plan of what I will be doing down the track and also a good knowledge of all the doors open with a choice. Also there is also...

    Melbourne Uni - Academic machine?

As I said to you; if you have engineering at monash university first and did reasonably well in specialist maths, physics, chemistry and maths methods, you still potentially have a chance at going to Monash University. Monash did actually make 41.76% of their offers below 91.3 last year and 95%...

Anyone who's interested in New Generation degrees for next year

Hi I also want to do the bachelor of Science also! I got 89.45 so really I'm hoping that we are high enough to get in. I don't know why people are calling the degrees B.S. because I love how you can decide what you major in whilst actually sampling everything. I'll probably do physics 1&2...

I bombed out, please help me.

What were your marks for UAI (i.e. your subject scores)? I did VCE so my UAI knowledge probably wont be too good but my thoughts are why did you get significantly lower than 85! You should have done more scientific subjects such as chemistry instead of music and another maths. As for doing what...
