Girl Image issues, and what to say.

Just change the subject. Continued discussion equals struggling in quicksand.

    "Student website bans anti-Semitic Group"

I must have a bit of a sadistic streak within me then.

    Penguin Classics

Have a fair few. Love them all, but I must say 'The Plague' by Albert Camus is more of a favourite.

    American Politics

The appeal of certain, distinctive policies (which didn't really exist under Turnbull but would've done him some good if it did). Palin was a revolting candidate. Why anyone would want to vote for her regardless of her authenticity in political fractures is beyond my understanding.

Iv'e forgotten how to write a narrative

There's nothing wrong with using the word belonging - so long as you don't use it excessively. Ie once every paragraph. I think it can be up to about 1200 but 900 words is usually a good length. It doesn't really need an end. Just needs to be conclusive.

    Uws early offer

To OP. I received early offer for UWS as well, but for a different course but I have no intention of going there however. From what I understand in the email they sent me, even if you don't put it as your first preference, it just means you don't accept their early January round offer. When it...

So you're suggesting doing this is would be better idea than doing a combined at another uni... say UTS? and then applying for a transfer after first year?

Keeping motivated, aiming for ATAR 95+

I would say I worked consistantly throughout the year but something else. I had a life. So, I'd go out (not excessively but enough), come home and feel guilty about lack of studying. So I'd do some questions, understand concepts (I find making notes a waste of time for myself personally). Then...

    "study smart. not hard"

^+1 But just make sure you're reading what's necessary because sometimes you just might not have enough time to go as indepth as you'd like to. Understanding the theory behind the concepts is far better than spending a lot of time just trying to remembering the concept itself.

    Share your 2009 ATAR here

SAM told me 97.55 (UAI) UMAX told me 97.8 (ATAR) The filthy liars because UAC overruled and said 98.10 ATAR.

How to do well in English?

Seriously? Reading. As much, as varied as possible. Quality texts of course - news papers such as SMH and the Australian, classic novels (not your junk, like Twilight and other pop fiction), non fiction texts etc etc. Ask great English students and generally, most have a dense reading background.

Which laptop is the best? [Poll]

Macbook Pro ftw! I've owned a 20' iMac for 3 years and recently got a MacBook Pro. That's how much I've enjoyed using Macs. My iMac hasn't frozen, crashed or stuffed up once (and I consider myself a fairly heavy user) and it's still running on top speed with no lag -ever. I've never dual...

    Should I repeat year 12?

How'd you go in UMAT? What I wonder is how much can you really improve your ATAR by? Not doubting your ability but can you improve in another institution and acquire enough to get you accepted into interviews? And if you don't pass interviews... would that mean you just wasted a year? I'd...

    Anyone get 90+/95+ without b6s?

    Make any '10ers feel optimistic. 1 Band 6 and an E4 = 98+. And the band 6 wasn't any of my ext2s.

Seriously Does Anybody Miss George Bush or not?

I'm bit confused. Are you talking about current plans or are you talking about future plans? For the comparisons to China, I was referring to our current, non filtered internet. If you think the comparisons to China is about the future legislation then I am sorry but you are mistaken. I have...

    Internet filtering: You can't opt-out

^Haha, something I can agree with you for once. Anyone know when the proposed "trial" is going to happen?

Seriously Does Anybody Miss George Bush or not?

Go live in China for a while, then come back and assume information is being censored. The Chinese Communist government will censor information without your knowledge. They even censored parts of something as major as Obama's inauguration speech because it contained a one line content against...

Is The Daily Telegraph the worst newspaper in Australia?

Or Channel 7 news. Must admit, the comics were great in the Tele when I was 10 years old. Seriously, reports of UFOs... Who knows, maybe the DT's editor thinks there are little green men anal probing him.

Seriously Does Anybody Miss George Bush or not?

Regarding censoring of information, we live with more free speech then alot of other nations. Simply put, I'm not that suspecious and with the world wide web at anyone's disposal, censoring information is almost impossible (well that is until Senator Conroy and his stupid legislation gets a...
