Sooo what do we think about tomorrows paper??

Mod B is going to screw me over. Actually most of it is going to screw me over, I think my marks will mainly be stored in Mod C and A. I reckon they'll ask a super specific question for Mod B, Mod A probably won't be an essay. Hopefully Mod C is a choice.

HSC Standard/Advanced Paper 1 Exam Thoughts

Yeah - off topic but I was pissed at how they stapled the damn question booklet. Like, WHY??? Bad design. I'd be flipping through and suddenly bam the whole side was stapled together like a magazine lol. I didn't manage to get that many pages out in my essay though which I'm annoyed about. Too...

HSC Standard/Advanced Paper 1 Exam Thoughts

Sameeeee I just went on about pathetic fallacy and connection to spirituality through nature

HSC Standard/Advanced Paper 1 Exam Thoughts

Damn I fucked up. Real bad. There goes my chances of getting a band 5/6 in English. Shit. 1984 question wasn't great but wasn't impossible either, just required some critical quick thinking. Which I did not demonstrate lol. I really fucked up.

    HSCBUZMAN'S ENGLISH PREDICTIONS (ADV)

I swear if I get a Hotspur question I'm gonna be so mad.... also, says critics aren't required but I was planning on taking some readings/theories in?? Are you having any prepared?

    HSCBUZMAN'S ENGLISH PREDICTIONS (ADV)

Me too!!! Oh no... I was hoping I was alone in that feeling and I'd be proven wrong :( I'm doing King Henry IV part one so I get a character question I'll lose my mind

    HSCBUZMAN'S ENGLISH PREDICTIONS (ADV)

Hahah well the resources that we actually needed they didn't provide us with, e.g. section 1 of paper 1  but yeah idk, while they obvs aren't actively working against us they sure aren't making it easy. But yeah I wouldn't on anything either way - could totally be wrong but I do have...

    HSCBUZMAN'S ENGLISH PREDICTIONS (ADV)

Oh idk this is just what people have been saying incl my English teacher, she's not a great teacher tho tbh. I'm happy either way honestly! I feel like Mod C is the easiest.

    Whose ready for english?

Yep. I doubt they'll do it for the critical study, though. More likely to take a shot with Mod A

    HSCBUZMAN'S ENGLISH PREDICTIONS (ADV)

Yeah, this is pretty much what I'm thinking too. Although, I don't think they'll ask for a specific text type in Mod C since it's the first year and they need sample responses from students for every mode.

What ATAR is everybody hoping for?

Curious to hear what everybody is aiming for.

    Whose ready for english?

Haha thanks! I'm pretty happy with the mark. Don't think that'll transfer for me in the actual exams hahahahah. But hey I'm sure you'll do great, especially since your atar goal is 90. Can't relate :((( Your other subjects are great too so even if they ask us this and you flunk out in English...

    Whose ready for english?

Yeah the module is textual conversations but theoretically all modules for paper 2 could be asked in a non-essay format. It's so unlikely they'll do it for Mod B though, because it's best expressed as an essay. I don't even think it's super likely they'll do it for Mod A since it's the first...

    Whose ready for english?

I got 85% and it definitely didn't reflect the "study" I did. That's why I feel like it would be easy lol. We did an interview in prelims as well for King Lear, pretty sure for that one they give you a prompt similar to a radio host with Shakespeare, or a critic or something. It's pretty stupid...

    Whose ready for english?

Yep. Our prompt in trials was two students discussing the resonances and dissonances between John Keats poems and Bright Star by Jane Campion. It feels weirdly forced but you kinda just have to be like: Student 1: "No, I thought "Ode on a Grecian urn" held more themes of mortality. Yes, the...

    Whose ready for english?

I don't know - I kinda feel like it's easy to bullshit? I got a "conversation" for Mod A in trials without realising that was even possible lol and without studying at all - just had some quotes. Somehow got an 85%? And my teachers sure as hell aren't easy markers either LMAO! My point is idk if...

    Whose ready for english?

Yep. Isn't it great the limited info NESA gives us?

    UOW Early Entry?

I got into both my courses today as well! It depends on your course, but it should say in the email. Pretty sure all UOW early offers are "conditional" of successful completion of your HSC - basically as long as you get an ATAR over 35, you're good. Unless you're studying medicine or something?

    my forum

Yeah - the time frame for both papers honestly is fucked up. But the unseen texts fucks me over because I know one of them will be a 2 page novel excerpt probably lol
