    general UNSW chit-chat

^oppenent: ben hayes, and some azn dude dunno his name Judge are Axel and chen wang. Moot problem I guess was reasonable, I can see they put in a lot of effort to make it straight forward for us :P..but I guess the other team put in a lot of effort and it's a deserving win for them..:l ..good...

What marks are considered GOOD in law school?

Depends on your aspiration. It feels discouraging though to read the clerkship thread where some people with awesome marks (good Ds) and work experience get rejected by so many law firms.

Hmm, ever thought you've chosen the wrong course?

I am thinking of doing a graduate diploma of education after I finish with this, just to keep my options open.

Hmm, ever thought you've chosen the wrong course?

I frequently do. I have always thought of being a teacher...but for irrational reasons I just never tried getting into an ed course. When I was young I enjoyed debating and reading legal articles, and that probably got me into law, but as I got into the realities of it (i.e. massive amount of...

    general UNSW chit-chat

:jaw:lol i thought it was pretty useless. for accounting majors like me at least, they should only make it core for finance and statistics students..at the very least, it shouldn't be a first semester subject, it demoralises people..people like me:o. physically? it's like a black hole, even your...

First year at uni and hate it!

I hate uni too..for social reasons. Workload wise, I can understand. First year will seem intimidating and chaotic...The way to calm yourself is to realise that at uni no one will be aiming for 100%. You should aim for a mark which you think is comfortably achievable. 60-70s sounds about...

    joining club

Thanks tehazn, I will send them an email.:) I've recently joined chess club too. talkid, I sort of agree, but to be honest I find it a problem even in the asb (though less severe). I guess I am used to having a group of laidback, easy going close friends in high school, at unsw it seems like...

    joining club

Damn...well thanks anyway. I've been trying a lot harder this semester than the last two...but the same problem..meeting 1-2 people here and there, very "dry" relationships, everyone seem to have a high school network or uni network. Hope things improve soon..

    Uni or High School?

i m second yr student lol..plus that's true for me in first year too. Seemed like everyone have their own group of friends, by week 1 actually.

    Uni or High School?

It's hard..they come and go..clashing timetable is one issue, and the fact that most people already have a pre-determined group is another.

    general UNSW chit-chat

lol so shameless...I don't understand how they can do it with a straight face.. I am all for helping a friend in need, or even a stranger in need, but these sort of people are extraordinary, shame they don't work in the dairy industry..:p btw..what did you say to him?

    Readings for Tuts (& Lectures)...?

Depend on the subject. One way I get by is to read the self-study + tute question first, then flipped through the textbook with a heading relevant to the question, then read it and do the question at the same time. This help me filter out useless reading and I will have something to say if I...

    general UNSW chit-chat

Extreme bad luck. Haven't met many new friends but met an international who is soooo thick skinned. Immediately ask for my contact and immediately and openly say he needs help with the subject and ask (demand rather) that I help him. He started a msn convo with me and we chatted for a few...

    1 hr - 2 hr commute. Travelpass?

You'll have to calculate it, but as others said, 3 days/week is generally not worth travelpass..so yeh.
