Don't most people just choose a university which has a course that best suits what they like and need? Well, that's how i'm choosing which university and course i'd like to do.

Heys. I'm just a little confused. Everyone keeps saying your school's rank (_____ High School = ____ of state) doesn't count towards your ATAR or HSC. But if it doesn't matter what school do you go to, then why does your school rank matter? I thought it was only the state rankings that mattered...
