i)n/(3n-1) x n/(3n-2)
ii) 2n/(3n-1) x n/(3n-2)
just pick one ball at a time.
iii) 2 balls same colour, (n-1)/(3n-1)
then one of another colour, 2n/(3n-2)
so times those together.
iiii)ratio..
n^2 : 2n^2 : 2n^2-2n
as n gets big...
1:2:2
hmm i write
"Since n=1 is true, and n=k+1 is true if n=k is true, then initial statement is true by the principles of mathematical induction"
would i get the marks or do i need to explain that more
i guess so. it was just a guess. since our test was probably the same difficulty as HSC and we had a 112 111.5 110.5 out of 116 (a 4 mark question in q2 was taken out)
oh i seeeee now.
i remember doing this last year.
yeah, u have to change the domain i guess, everything else wont fit...sorta
sin^2 (x/3)=1/2
sin (x/3)=+-(1/root2)
then i guess you could just find all the solutions, and delete those that dont fit...
