They couldn't pay me to wear that checkered uniform.

I'm guessing the store was evacuated and locked until all was above board? Happened to us a few years ago when there was a black out and subsequent failure of our redundant UPS/power supply systems. Re: facing. We basically don't face any more. We are lucky to get the freezer faced on SOME...

You know you have to enter the report into PULSE (or your manager does) regardless of whether or not they provide details? And if they do give details, it has to be recorded properly, not just "I'll take your name/number and check on you tomorrow".

Tickets are meant to be grade 2. They did a review of this last year after it surfaced that cash office peoples should be getting grade 4 but they weren't. The company said tickets only get normal pay.

One of our office ladies is getting trained up for payroll at another store. She thinks Kronos is easy (maybe because it's a Windows application and she has never endured the old system which is all keyboard). We get ours done at the end of the month.

Nah I don't think so. If there was, it'll be something the cash office needs to order as they do that stuff. I want one of those cool management ones lol

Given that the grades with * in front are lower pay rates than the other rates in the same grade, I guess it just means it is a lower rate.

For grade 3 and above, you get the full adult wage regardless of how old you are. Nanakid, I remember you telling me that you got grade 4 for supervision a long time ago, because it was the same pay rate as me? Due to my promotion, the last time I supervised was January, but the pay rate then...

SSA's and supervisors are grade 4 at our store, they were prior to the new agreement and they are after the new agreement came into effect (as the new agreement said they would be grade 3 however existing supervisors will still be paid grade 4?)

Don't you get grade 4 for supervision? Our supervisors do? My GOD it was busy today, we got absolutely smashed.

The stripe shirts were reserved for management for the first couple of months. All staff have been able to wear these for years and years now. I'm sure any staff can wear the micro. Also re: lunch breaks.. they were useless anyway, nobody takes them when the rosters says.

Yeah, not on Kronos yet. Old school style rosters. Lol the service uniform change will be interesting! I bet our store hasn't made that change yet. What's the micro check shirts all about?

The payslip from tonight has my pay rise. You didn't get one?

Our store is opened every morning by service cashiers? They set up the tills, self serve, do change orders etc? Just because something is a little different to what you'd do normally, doesn't mean it is a supervision task and you should be paid higher.
  17. iMatthew

    The Woolworths Thread

I'm not debating whether or not they do it, I'm saying that they will not get paid anything extra for performing those tasks, and so they shouldn't because it is perfectly within the role of a service cashier.

I think you need to re evaluate or take another look at the job description of a service cashier. You can pretty much be asked to do whatever within limits. Customer service is the primary role, how is answering phones not a correlation?

    The Woolworths Thread

I agree with you, however one could argue that most things in that list falls under the role of a service cashier anyway (breaks, assisting other cashiers, storenet, wow money, carpet cleaners, announcements, cleaning, answering phones). They aren't purely supervision duties.

Probably so they could run the payment summaries off a different server for load balancing
