Uni's set own fees from 2016

I'm imagining they will work on the market forces of supply and demand, so obviously Go8 Universities will incur higher fee's due to greater demand. Thus also creating a greater tier-system of universities.. Nobody can really accurately estimate what fee's will be but 2-3x sounds about right if...

What kind of tea do you like?

Green tea and Jasmine Tea. I bought some matcha today for the first time and it's great, new favourite.

    Should you use newspaper articles?

It's good to include media in your extended responses to show that you're down with contemporary issues.

    Economics- HSC Essay predictions !

My teacher seems to reckon there will be a trade agreement question in there somewhere due to contemporary trade agreements in the process of being created and such around the time the exam would have been made. Thinking TPP, KAFTA, JAEPA.

    Co-op UNSW

My co-curriculars are mainly school-based, so in that regard probably not.. I'm expecting 96-97. But yeah don't feel like finishing it if I'm flogging a dead horse so to speak. Plus the course I would opt for in Co-op isn't the ideal one I'd go for at uni. Lol halp.

    Co-op UNSW

Lol, one day out. Just wondering if it's worth finishing my application for a commerce co-op if I haven't done Mathematics?

Do you support an increase to the GST?

It sounds good on paper, but the thing is GST is a regressive tax, it may suit the Liberal government but the lowest income earners will feel it the most.

How harsh are HSC Economics markers?

I hear the markers are pretty fussy, especially when it comes to short answers. E.g. Question directive is 'explain' (4 marks), you have to add a little bit for depth in to it than just explaining for the full 4 marks. Or they ask you to outline something, you should describe it. This is just...

Job prospects: B Media (communication and journalism)?

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking. After the HSC I'm going to look in to an internship with a local news paper before I go to Sydney for university. So we'll see how we go with that. Looking at Economics/Arts at UNSW.

Job prospects: B Media (communication and journalism)?

Cheers for the comprehensive answer! Yeah, it's a shame as I think it would be a great career. With other career prospects in mind and considering the over-supply, might as well pursue a degree in something else I'm interested in.

    University fee deregulation

I guess if it passes we might get a fairly definitive answer. Banks ultimately run the show anyway, that's just how it is.

    University fee deregulation

Cheers OzKo for shedding some alternate, constructive light on the issue. Not wanting to derail the thread, but the current political climate in Australia is a mess. We're never under the current system going to get adequate answers to questions from those who 'represent' us, or rather their...

    University fee deregulation

They would still have to source the finance regardless, I'm sure not all of it being from the tax payer. I'm unsure as to whether they'd sell it off to financial institutions, it would make sense. To be honest I don't really know.

    University fee deregulation

Well done with the research, that's quite an optimistic figure, the problem is we won't really know what the rates will be until 2016? You'd hope it wouldn't bring too much detriment to your livelihood, but remember this government was the one which was all up in arms about the cost of living...

    University fee deregulation

I am not equipped with sufficient information to answer that question. However the amount paid overall is still going to be greater. Resulting in less income for a prolonged period of time which instead could be of taxation revenue to the government rather than repayments to financial...
