Many interesting opinions. It was a pleasure to read them all. For the original poster – if you cannot change the game then dedicate yourself to playing the game well. I do think English should be compulsory but I also think Maths should be added as well.

I never support overreactions (such as the panic buying of toilet paper) but I do think the Australian government is under-reacting here. They have advised the students to stay home over the weekend but no strict enforcements on their siblings or parents etc. I understand they are trying to work...

Since you are in Year 11 and you are topping the class, there's a good chance your school might let you move up to English Advanced. Definitely ask, show your enthusiasm and that you are willing to work hard. Some schools are quite bad at this and won't let students move up if they think you...
