Asub is spot on on the beat poetry suggestion. Basically ended up setting the foundations of my work, is easily accessible, and (without sounding like a complete tosser) talks to our generation. Also, don't feel like you can't delve into song lyrics- they really are their own type of poetry...

So you're saying that the canto speakers would have to be in a private environment cut off from the throng of society in order to speak their own language, if they were studying in a foreign country. I mean I can understand if there were Asian students in a group conversation with English...

I think that is a little precious, don't you? Asian languages like Cantonese and Mandarin are vastly different to English in many respects. I don't think that if you were in China studying and there were a group of Aussies that studied with you, you would constantly go over and try your hand at...
