    UMAT 2015 Discussion Thread

At Monash, if you fail OSCEs by a great margin, you can't sit the (supplementary) exam. (i.e. fail year automatically) If you fail by a small margin, you get another shot a couple weeks later. Also OSCEs are only held at the end of the year.

    UMAT 2015 Discussion Thread

Sydney test centre (homebush) last year was much noisier/packed than Melbourne test centre (Caulfield Racecourse) S1 pretty normal, few tricky ones which I ran out of time on. This year seemed a little more time consuming. S2 easier than last year I reckon, virtually no hard vocab and more...

Am I intelligent enough to be a medical student?

I can't answer the question in OP's case, but in general, no, you do not have to be that intelligent. The high criteria to get in is a testament to the desirability and competition for the course, not the intelligence level required to be a medical student. I know ATAR is not a reflection of...

Nice places to hangout in Sydney?

Take a walk around darling harbour, visit the winter garden, go on a ferry, go watch a concert somewhere

    I want my Ps

Well, once you do get your P's won't your parents know you took the test without their permission? Cos it'll be pretty obvious once you start taking the car out of the driveway by yourself after you get the licence.

Med at different unis and transferring

Ok, you might be right, I just remember seeing those statistics on Mso a while back
  7. G

Med at different unis and transferring

i think it might be because an atar of 99 gives you an OP1, which is the highest ranking you can get in qtac.

Med at different unis and transferring

no, gpa 7 = 99.95, and gap 6.5 = 99, so you can still improve

Anyone receive an offer for Griffith med?

I know this sounds kind of naive but as a general rule, given your financial/family situation is fine, would you take interstate unbonded or bonded to your home state?

sorry have you got the pm?

sorry have you got the pm?

    Uadel med/dent offers

wow, good job, those marks are ridiculously high. (let alone for a rural student) good chance of getting upgraded, as they normally limit the no. of first round offers and quite a few people reject.

    Uadel med/dent offers

No offer as well lol with 99.5 and 98 umat Thought interview was pretty good
  13. G

When are second round interview offers released?

Monash-20th Queensland-none Une-none (unless predicted less than 93.4 but actual atar over 93.4 Uws-none (unless predicted atar less than threshold but actual over) Uadel-sometime in mid jan (from admissions guide)

    UWS ATAR Cutoff

as long as you get above 93.5, and you haven't finished a university degree, you'll be fine. (i.e. you've met the academic threshold)
  15. G

    USYD combined medicine interview

i'm pretty sure gahyunkk is international so the interviewing/offer system would be different (first round domestic for usyd is already done)

How many words do you write in 60min ?

my friend could only write about 850 in 40 mins (memorised) and still managed a 93 in Advanced. So, quality, not quantity (to a large extent)

    UNSW average UMAT??

Use the term median please. It's more accurate. Ie if you consider the average raw, it's probably about 65 (people may get in with raws of like 73 dragging the whole average up). However if you look at raw average percentile, it would probably be about 96. ( ie taking the average or 93, 97 or...
