    Hardest Degree in University?

As an example, Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) and Bachelor of Laws combined degree. This involves the widest area of study, including humanities (law), natural science(Physics), Applied Science (Law/Engineering in general), Formal Science (Math). The only degree I might consider more...

Engineering/Law or some variation of Science/Law (Mathematics, Physics)

    24 hour rooms?

Australian School of Business Computer Labs. However you will need an ASB student card because security guards come in every hour to check whether everyone there has a student card from the ASB.

whos doing or has done ACTL1001?

DW ACTL1001 isn't too hard. It's basically an intro into applying actuarial science to real problems. It's when you do ACTL2001 and ACTL2002 at the same time that you get butt raped. Hard

    B Engineering / B Law

I know that B eng/b Law is very rare and building firms are highly attracted to students who study both civil engineering and law. My friend got a junior clerkship in his first year because he was studying eng/law.

    UNSW Subject Reviews.

LAWS1052- Foundations of Law Pretty bad course. Just glances over the law in a superficial manner. Spend most of the course talking about the history of law. LAWS1140- Public Law Okay course, depends on whether you're interested in constitutional law. I wasn't, so I found it...

    Majors for Commerce

Why would you want to do the same math course again?
  9. J

    Math1151

Pretty easy. Algebra takes a bit of getting used to.
  10. J

    Majors for Commerce

Yes. Unless you want to 1. Wait a year to do Math1151 2. Try and get exemption to do Math1251 and actl1001.

I've narrowed it down to four majors... I just need to pick two. Help?

You don't need to choose a major for mathematics until 3rd year. I would choose Statistics. If I had a choice, I would choose Economics as a major because it's interesting. But out of those two, I'd choose Finance.

    Commerce/Economics

People usually do Commerce/Economics to extend their degree by a year. 3 years is a short time.

    2011 University cut offs

Combined law at USYD and UNSW rose like a bitch. At this rate, usyd and UNSW might be pushing to 99.8, meaning without bonus points only people in the top 200 will be accepted. Thank god I am already in Unsw law lawl. To fleeeeced, transfer in man: ) you're in the same position I was in...

    Degrees sorted by difficulty

    1. Pure Mathematics/Physics 2. Engineering/Other Sciences like chemistry etc 3. Law 4. Arts/Commerce (Provided you aren't majoring in Actuarial)
  15. J

    2011 Semester 1 timetables

Effectively 3 day timetable. Not bad, considering Actuarial has only 1 lecture time slot.
  16. J

    B science (advanced mathematics)

It's a Science degree with honours. Ironically, less flexible than straight science.

    Transferring to Usyd/UNSW Comm/law

Lol it's pretty easy to average 75-80 in Commerce. Make sure you don't do Actuarial/Math courses though, they will kill your WAM. Chill with the transferring, it's fairly easy to transfer into law. Just get a 70+ WAM and you're in.
  18. J

    Which Commerce Major??

Accounting. Good luck lol, it's a 5.5 year course :P
  19. J

    Commerce/Law at USYD or UNSW

Sorry to break your heart, but I got 0.05 below the cut off and was rejected in all rounds. However, transferring in is easy! So just work hard first year of uni and you can transfer into UNSW Law :)

Advantages of Actuarial Studies at UNSW

Only benefit is flexibility. Otherwise, Macquarie trumps UNSW on Actuarial course, far more established and thorough. If you look at the employees at actuarial firms, they are all graduates of Macquarie not UNSW.
