    Anyone here a Mac user?

That's what I was getting at.

18 and still haven't got my apparition license (need it for uni)

Hmm I think that got pretty banged up though, you know, just before the war. And I'm sure the memory of what happened to Hedwig in it just might be too much for anyone to bear... :(

    Anyone here a Mac user?

Don't they charge more just for the different colour?

    Too tired of travel

I feel your pain. My Countrylink train came 45 minutes late today and I've now missed the same lecture 2 weeks in a row because of ShittyRail's failure to follow their own timetable. :chainsaw:

18 and still haven't got my apparition license (need it for uni)

It sucks, I've done the test but I failed because I splinched myself real bad, I'm banned from the apparition test for another 17 months!!! And the ministry just don't seem to get that I need to get to uni... It takes me almost 2 hours to get there on my Cleansweep 3 broomstick and my faculty...

    Too tired of travel

I have a long travel time as well (around 2 hours each way) but so far it hasn't been too bad. My sister works full time in the city too and commutes every day. Unfortunately it's just what we have to do if we live so far away from the city. (And the government wonders why people further out are...

70$ per hour to a local full-time student in Sydney

Sounds fucking creepy by not giving details if you ask me... "Lollipops, children!"

    Massive bookshop queue

Haven't bought my actual books yet because I wanted to wait for first lectures to make sure they were all needed. Bought my readers online. Bypassing the main copy centre line in the rain on Monday was hell, dirty looks from everywhere as I put down my umbrella and walked in to pick them up...

    Extension 2 English Scaling?

Do well and it will scale well. It's like anything really. Stop wasting time worrying over scaling and just try your hardest in everything, it will pay off. EDIT: And no 1-unit subject is just going to "help you out heaps" in your ATAR. If you're taking it just expecting your ATAR to jump by 5...

Which is Sydney's most bogan suburb?

I wouldn't really say it's incredible but certain new developments are showing promise. I live in the area and while there are bogans around in Picton etc. I wouldn't say it was at all comparable to a lot of Western Sydney suburbs. But yeah it's semi-rural, not urban. It's a completely...

    Clubs & Societies

I was told that some clubs/societies let you join without being an ACCESS member, does anyone know if SASS allow this? And BlueCatBulletCD I think you'd probably have to track them down and contact them (through the USU website perhaps?) about joining. USU Online - the University of Sydney...

    I can't feel my ass.

I feel your pain, at the mentoring thing we had an international student in our group and it took me until the end of the day to even understand what her name was. Found out later she'd actually come with more of an "Australian" sounding name to use so it's easier on people, but my mentor had...

    I can't feel my ass.

    Damn, I'm at 11.

    I can't feel my ass.

AAH the Carslaw seats are hell for the general comfort of the arse area. I only had 1 hour in there today but I feel for all of you who had to spend any longer on those long, cold bitches of benches. @X2RADialbomber The people in my Arts Mentoring group seriously had no subjects in common with...

    B. Arts - how many contact hrs p/wk for fulltime?

It really depends what subjects you're doing, though it's usually 10-14. I do 11 but I know people doing languages which will usually add another hour for tutorials. But yeah, it generally seems like a given that a Vet. Sci degree would entail more hours than an Arts degree.

    textbooks

Thanks for that. I've bought them online now, how long does it generally take before I can pick them up? Or should I be able to pick them up tomorrow? It doesn't really give any indication of when and how to pick them up. Do I take the tax invoice it gave?

r libraries open 24/7? + usefulness of gym

I have a lot of travel expenses and hours of travel each day too. Nothing would tempt me to consider living in a library. :P

The most nerve racking part about starting uni is..

To me, everything is glorious if it's free. Twice in a month? I'll be lucky not to be caught wearing the same thing twice in a week. Lol. No, the only difference is girls THINK people care. The main people who judge girls on what they're wearing are, well... other girls. You bring it upon...

    Clubs & Societies

]Yeah, that's understandable. I guess at least that'd stop me signing up with 30 clubs I'll never even want to see again though.
