at our school, they do not offer standard or esl. you are forced to do advanced. this is the same for maths; we don't offer general. same goes for ruse. i'm not sure about other schools though. i do know that hornsby girls does offer general maths, so i imagine it would depend on the school.

lol in yr11/12 maths this form is only used to solve quadratic equations, you would never use it to infer information about the graph. if you wanted to find out more about the importance of these values, you would complete the square. in of which case you would find out that b/2a = the x...

um the assessment mark you receive on your hsc results is already moderated.... i don't know what mark you're referring to, unless you mean your final school report mark. what enoilgram said is correct otherwise.

oh i was simply referring to teachers who don't write their own papers in my post, should have made that clear. either way, what you said is true. most schools give out commercial trials to their students.... (i know my eco dept doesn't, cos, you know, lazy haha)

for content based subjects this is definitely true. i think maths is a bit of an exception though, because it is VERY difficult to write good maths questions without referring to other exams. but then again to be fair, there are so many maths papers compared to other subjects that it becomes a...

by algebra bashing i mean writing a page worth of algebra for three marks. i'm not even kidding. also volumes is probably one of the easier, if not easiest topics.

harder 3u by far... imo conics isn't hard, it's just a shit ton of algebra bashing. same goes with mechanics, but mechanics is a bit nicer since they throw some integration in there as well.
