  1. Q

Do teachers universally follow this routine?

Spent like total 1 hour throughout the whole year on 4U probability/counting. Didn't show up in exam thank god LOL
  2. Q

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

    - Living cells need an optimal pH (~7.4) for proper biochemical functions. Thus, the conjugate pair forms a buffer to resist changes in pH to main when small amounts of acid/base are added to maintain aforementioned optimal pH - [Insert equation for addition of H+] - [Insert equation for...

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

Any predictions on 6-7 marker for core? o:
  4. Q

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

    Hoping 1st dp lol
  5. Q

Need assistance with what this means (Parametrix)

axis = axis of symmetry which then dictates the orientation of the parabola (either left-right or up-down)
  6. Q

How to learn without a teacher?

I'll let someone else comment on the issue of learning, but for the experiments you don't have to actually do them. It's all there in the textbooks :) Tbh doing experiments at school felt like a waste of time as I could have gotten the same amount of knowledge from a textbook in 5 minutes
  7. Q

    Pressure & Rate of reaction

My balance for pressure has always been (yield vs. safety/cost) with no mention of rate of reaction but I guess I'll include it now :)
  8. Q

    Pressure & Rate of reaction

You've talked about it with respect to reaction rate and not just LCP? O: I don't know anyone who does
  9. Q

    Pressure & Rate of reaction

How come I never see sample answers talking about increasing pressure to increase rate of reaction (assuming gaseous reaction) as opposed to temperature? Like in the Haber process with questions involving "balance", temperature is a balance between yield and rate of reaction; so why not say...
  10. Q

    3U 1999 Q5b)

f(0) = 0 Thus, f(x) >=0 for all x since minimum at x = 0 from (i) This is fine because you evaluated f(0). Marking critera says its unsatisfactory if you didn't (because minimum could be -1 or something)
  11. Q

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

What question? The one I asked? Because they don't... that's why I asked
  12. Q

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

And this is meant to be in the syllabus?
  13. Q

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

I doubt we have to know it though... this dotpoint is definitely the worst one. No one knows what HSC wants and textbooks are way too excessive
  14. Q

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

Kjeldahl method for nitrates, colorimetry for phosphates.
  15. Q

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

2012 HSC: Describe the process of monitoring waterways for eutrophication. (3) Sample solutions don't go into the Kjeldahl method/colorimetry so I don't understand what we are expected to know. Anyone want to have a go at it without using aforementioned methods?

    Hsc 2013 q

Thanks guys i got it :) Here's another one Q23b http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc_exams/hsc2010exams/pdf_doc/2010-hsc-exam-physics.pdf Sample solutions from BOSTES "In the frame of the train the acceleration of the mass is zero, hence there is zero net force. Therefore, apart from the...

    Hsc 2013 q

Yeah I don't understand the newton's 3rd law part. What is the pair? My explanation involved centripetal force + centrifugal force but centrifugal isn't in the syllabus so yeah :(
  19. Q

    Hsc 2013 q

http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc_exams/2013/pdf_doc/2013-hsc-physics.pdf Can someone explain 30a please? I don't understand their sample answers :/
