yes, you do need to do prelim as it will help you understand the later concepts in the HSC but you don't need to do extremely well, just get a good grasp of things with decent marks that should be enough to understand the HSC

i just found a mistake i did in my 4u exam, my 2 transformed into a 3 :(

i put fudge in the eng test and came back with 12/15 <==WIN

it still all depends on your ranking at the moment, i'm assuming you have a pretty decent ranking from your first assessment, but how did your mark fair against others for the second assessment, if the test was hard and everyone got a mark around yours, then i'm sure you can still get a band 6.
