I was wondering if you're a casual and rostered on but don't get a call to come in, do you still go to work?

I joined EGG, probably will only just go to the weekly consoles on the concourse during my breaks. The communist/socialist clubs seem to the most active, although there's like 3 of them for some reason. I always see them putting up their posters or handing out flyers.

Hrm, due to uni I mostly can only work in the evening. Someone else suggested that I try to get shifts in deli or seafood as it's easier and less stressful than checkouts. Anyone here work in those departments?

No RSA, should I get one? I'm not regster trained either, would it be worthwhile trying to get trained? And how would I go about this?

For the past two weeks all my shifts have been cancelled :( Time to start looking for a new job.

I'm doing Science and International Studies, I'm not too sure yet what to major in but it's something in the life/environmental sciences. Biotech though is one I've been contemplating.

I believe first year is a foundation year in which everyone in the same stream (life/environmental sciences or physical sciences) does the same subjects which comprise of 48cp. Then for your following years you can choose what to major in. http://handbook.uts.edu.au/courses/c10242.html

Heh, my manager cancelled my shift for tonight :) Probably one of the only times when I'll be happy for it to be cancelled. They better not cancel my NYD shift though.

Heh, couldn't believe we managed to fill and face everything by 10pm tonight. We managed to leave before the front end staff for once :) Also got paid early for next week :D

I am. Usually we work 1900-2400, but luckily the new nightfill captain is nice and wants us out by close, so I'm doing 1700-2200.
