I rekon i have a per term fluctuation... Hols: motivation = 0 Wk 1: motivation = 0 Wk 2: motivation = 0 upon the sudden realisation that im completely behind the rest of the class studywise... Wk 3: motivation = 7 Wk 4-8: motivation = 8 Wk 9-10/11: motivation = 5

    linear functions

To find the constants, i would sub in a value for x into the original equation, find its y, Then use those values and sub into one of the new equations. Then just solve the equation for the constant. eg. 2x-2y+7=0 sub x=1....therefore y= 4.5 (or 9/2) For the new equation, lets take y =...

    Radioactive decay

I remember doing this in class, but im stil not sure. I think a neutron becomes a proton, in accordance with quantum theory and the composition of protons and neutrons ie up and down quarks...ask someone who has done quanta to quarks. EDIT: Neutrons (One Up Quark, Two Down Quarks). One down...

    chemistry and physics

To adhere to topic: 1. Understand concepts 2. Practice and Apply 3. Memorise concepts and practice on a regular basis. Going on from what fizzy said about hard working students, i must admit i am in the situation where my ranking is high in my school but probably not where i would want it to...

    Exponential Question (Harder 3u)

This is a question i found in my half yearly 4u exam, just wanted to see how people go about answering it. For the equation: <a href="http://www.codecogs.com/eqnedit.php?latex=e^x@plus;e^y=5" target="_blank"><img src="http://latex.codecogs.com/gif.latex?e^x+e^y=5" title="e^x+e^y=5" /></a> i)...

Cupboard, then Fridge, then Cupboard again.
  10. K4M1N3

    How you doing?

Oh for sure! For some reason 4u seems so logical as opposed to 3u which is just annoying. ^also hows the volumes topic in 4u? Does it compare in difficulty to mechanics or what?

    How do you answer these:

Yeah you are right, it does only suggest points of changing concavity. To actual determine inflexion you HAVE TO test points. I mighta been a little lazy :S
  12. K4M1N3

    How do you answer these:

First Derivative = gradient function Second Derivative = concavity function when solving the second derivative when = 0 you are finding when the concavity changes, ie a point of inflexion.

    Answer this for me

Hmmm yeah. I did use 9.8, but not sure if you need to use the acceleration due to gravity at a specific height after 30s. How many marks was the question?
  14. K4M1N3

    Answer this for me

    Ok so we need to find mass after 30 secs = 2000000-(30 x 1500) (on converting to kg) T = 8x10^7 using the formula: a = (T-mg)/m a = 31.12 (to 2 d.p.) then use F = ma where m = 85 (mass of astronaut) a = 31.12 (as we found above) therefore F = 2645 N :)
  15. K4M1N3

where are you up to in chem?

Unfortunately Industrial Chemistry.....would have really liked to have done Biochem or Forensic Chem

    Polynomials Question

Hmm well, not quite sure but as a starting point (if you have not already), differentiate the polynomial, since there is a root of multiplicity 2, then the first derivative must also be divisible by (x-1) then just go on from there.
