Is my schools new rule actually allowed?!

Note that if a school submits assessment marks with two (or more) students tied on the top assessment mark, then the top moderated assessment mark is equal to the mean of the top two (or more) examination marks. http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc-results/moderation.html

    Error in my HSC timetable?

Obviously your school forgot to tell the BOS. Ask the school to print off a new confirmation of entry to prove it's been dropped off.

    Can you drop subject anytime?

No time limit, just failing to turn up for the exam is considered dropping the course. The Result Notice will say "ABSENT" but the actual HSC will have the dropped course missing.

    2010 HSC dates?

Re: 2010 HSC Final Exams In the very rare event that you cannot complete exams on the same day as everyone else, the BOS makes you sign a statutory declaration that you had no prior knowledge of the contents of the exam paper. That means shutting yourself off from TV, internet and mobile phone...

    HSC and how it's marked

Get a grip! The OP asked about the SECOND highest exam mark, not the top exam mark. Read the link and learn ..... Otherwise try this explanation. It also includes real life examples (where the second highest moderated assessment is NOT the second highest exam mark)...
  16. B

    HSC and how it's marked

This part is bullshit. You DO NOT receive the second highest exam mark if you are ranked second on assessment. This is how the BOS explains moderation. You should try to understand it. Step 7 – Moderating assessment marks - Board of Studies NSW
