Chances of 99+ with a band 5 in English (Adv)?

Shouldn't you be studying for your yr 10 exams? They're pretty important you know, wouldn't want them to drag down your HSC mark.

Chances of 99+ with a band 5 in English (Adv)?

Assuming I hit 93's - 94's in Chem, Phys, Eco and 95+ in 4U, 96+ in 3U? External in the HSC's I mean. Basically, how well will I have to do in my other subjects to make up for 84-85ish mark in english?

    UMAT

In reference to what I said; your posts tend to de-glamorize the idea of medicine and inform people of some of the tough truths of it. This is good as medicine is held up on such a high pedestal by everybody and actually having someone who's in the field discuss it brings an element of reality...

    UMAT

Look mate you're in yr 10. The fact that your name is 'futuremedstudent' is somehow giving me the idea that you really want to get into medicine. That's fine I guess, but seeing as you're in yr 10 there's some hard truths you should face now so you don't get bitterly disappointed later down the...

Who Hates People Who Study All The Time And Never Have A Larf

Gonna go against the status quo here. Studying is important. Education is important. We're on a forum that's dedicated to studying so I'm pretty sure we all recognize that. With that in mind however, I think we all know THAT guy. You know THAT guy? The guy that studies all day, every day...

Quick question regarding ions and flame test

Tru dat. Plus now I've made a thread about it, I've pretty much committed the 'add F- ions' thing to memory LOL

Quick question regarding ions and flame test

So I know if you add sulfuric acid to a sample and get a precipitate it can be either Barium or Calcium ions present. Most sources then go on to say add fluorine ions, but would a flame test suffice? If not, why?

How much study did you do in your term 2 holidays?

You're not alone mate. You're probably going to talk to some people that were like me, who say they studied for 4-5 hours a day. Keep in mind it was VERY inefficient study and a lot of surfing the web, staring at the wall. Don't be intimated, have confidence in yourself and don't waste study...

Why are people choosing to pursue a career in medicine?

Kid's got a point. To an extent, most people go through phases of hating their job and almost everyone complains about their job to a degree. Pretty sure even male 'adult' actors will sigh and force themselves to get out of bed some mornings.

Why are people choosing to pursue a career in medicine?

inb4 secret ploy to discourage people from doing medicine so it's less competitive and Medman can find a job easier lol. Just kidding. But yeah, I have a question. Instead of me asking why you want out - why do you still stay in? What's actually keeping you in the course, because I feel like...

    Ideal hours

^^ 3-4 hours a day has been working pretty fantastically for me, taking a break whenever I'm ceebs (but still maintaining some discipline). However I feel like I should be doing more in the lead up to trials... better start busting out the past papers soon (don't judge, mine are in 5 weeks).

Why are people choosing to pursue a career in medicine?

http://www.graduatecareers.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/GCAGradStats2013.pdf Hey Medman, it says in the link above that med graduates had employment rates of about 96%. I'm not a med student, and I'm sure many of those had to go rural i.e. relocate, but that still sounds miles better than...

    When solving projectile motion question

If they give you clean numbers. Any surds or fractions then see ya later mate. So yeah, personal preference but I like working with symbols up until the end, which is how I believe higher level physics generally is too (oh lord the amount of constants in pysics). Also, my teacher is a massive...

People in med programs-have you generally come across any people from public schools?

Re: People in med programs-have you generally come across any people from public scho I feel like such a loser when everyone downplays section 3. All I've heard is that it's apparently the easiest to make improvements on, but here I am 6 months later still getting every pick the middle question...

People in med programs-have you generally come across any people from public schools?

Re: People in med programs-have you generally come across any people from public scho Look I'm sure genetic factors come into play when it comes to something like UMAT, but there's a good chance it's also heavily impacted by upbringing and environment. All I did when I was a kid was climb...

People in med programs-have you generally come across any people from public schools?

Re: People in med programs-have you generally come across any people from public scho Mmm yeah and if UWS has so few public school students, we can only assume NSW and UNCLE have close to none (well, not really, but I suck at section I UMAT so what do I know about making conclusions lol)...

People in med programs-have you generally come across any people from public schools?

Asking this because I go to a decently ranked public school (hey, less than 200 is decent right?) and nobody from my school has ever made it into any medicine programs, and nor do I think anyone will this year (there's only 5 of us doing the UMAT and we're all failing miserable, like 30-50...

    Actuarial Studies vs Engineering

I don't think that degree exists anywhere in NSW.

    Actuarial Studies vs Engineering

So are you enjoying petroleum now? Man I hate having these conflicting thoughts. I really do like science and physics, but at the same time I also enjoy economics and maths.

    Actuarial Studies vs Engineering

May I ask, specifically what was it about actuarial that you didn't like? Was it not what you expected? Lots of people expect it to be mostly maths but its a business orientated degree in the end.
