2012 Economics HSC Exam predictions thread

Yeah I've had similar ideas to what's been posted. Anyone who's done the 2012 CSSA and Independent papers, could you please post the essay questions from them? I've noticed a trend that CSSA can be pretty close to HSC :o in order of likeliness Labour markets BOP question Case Study...

BOS IGNORED ONE OF MY WRITING BOOKLETS!!!

Don't mean to dig up an old thread but the same thing happened to someone at my school last year, was near top in business but ended up with a terrible HSC mark. Paid BOS, and found they didn't mark a section, when it got marked got an extra 10 in his HSC external score, most of the small cohort...

Re: If you write your memorised (19/20) generic essay in the HSC WITHOUT LINKING WHAT 15-16 if they give a half assed attempt at even answering the question, I've seen this so many times lol. But for the higher marks, you'd have to do better with the linking.

Lance Armstrong to be stripped of titles

Never failed a drug test, never tested positive. Honestly, I believe he just had enough. It would take ridiculous amounts of time and money to keep up with the lawsuits they had on him. Like he said, it doesn't matter that it's not 'recognised' officially. He, his team, and the people he...

    Independent 2012 Paper

Does anyone do this paper here? If anyone's done it, was there a change in focus onto the new areas of the syllabus? Was there still a massive algorithm question in the middle of the exam?

    Does IPT scale well

No, it doesn't. Drop it while you can.

    Extension English 2

Just reminding you have to sit 4 different subjects for the HSC, so if you do Ext 2 Maths and Ext 2 English, you'll have to pick up another 2 unit subject and do 12 units, as opposed to doing 10.

Extension 2 maths or Ancient History?

A couple of weeks may be alright, but I'm not sure if they'd give you a good indicator of how you'd do in the long run. in terms of scaling, it might not be the best way to show it, but a flat 90 in Ancient is equivalent to an ATAR of 93, while a flat 90 in Ext2 is equivalent to around 99.75...

Makes you think about a lot of the stupidity going on in schools these days

I don't get people who put a country above everything. You could've been born in any country, Canadan, Australia, India...it's just happened that you were born in one. I can't believe people hold this country in more importance than beliefs, which define a person far more than where they were...

Extension 2 maths or Ancient History?

It's alright to keep extracurriculars, as long as they don't take too much time. You should definitely not do 12 units, not even 14 units. If you take 14 units, you'll have so much work, that your performance in them might not indicate what would happen if you were down at 10 units, so you might...

    Maths Induction Problem

From the 2009 HSC 4u paper...why don't you read some of the worked solutions available online? There's so many these days. This question looks hard, but it's pretty easy if you use the identity derived in part i). Oh yeah, you should probably include that as well, because to do it without it is...

    Probability Question

First order the two people. Assume the first of the two people sits in one of the 7 seats. 1 x .... The second person can now seat in 4 possible seats, not next to him, and not in the seat the first person already occupies, so. 1 x 4 ... Now there's 5 people remaining, so there's 5! way...

Trig Question - HSC Exam Style 3U

Same thing really isn't it? But I think the first is easier because expanding a compound angle is easier than realising it could be put in the form of one, especially as tan (pi/4) = 1

    Why!

Your teacher is a muppet who doesn't understand the English criteria. IT should've at least gotten 5+, probably 7-9 at the least, maybe if you didn't use any techniques or back up your ideas at all. But it's all been said now, make sure the marker can clearly see what these two ideas are...

Oh and yeah I'd be grateful if you could send me any SDD stuff :D there's so little! And you don't have 3u 4u HSC 1984-2011 or any years in between with worked solutions do you? I'm about to buy them haha
