    Here is the exam

You might want to attach the file(s) to a forum post, damo676767, so that you don't have to worry about bandwidth limits.

    Is this fair?

It might have mattered if you were ranked first... but if you're not first or last, it doesn't really matter whether you're tied or not.

suing for exposure "to the prospect of the imposition of the death"

That'd largely be an administrative law matter, I think. The Attorney-General's exercise of discretion would be reviewable in the courts for jurisdictional error, but its scope is quite broad - could be some evidentiary difficulties there. Also, they're only seeking "declaratory relief"...

    Band Six for english standard?

Teachers have always advised students to take the Advanced course if they are capable of doing so. If a student chooses not to follow that advice and decides to take Standard anyway, I don't think any complaint on their part would be valid.

    Band Six for english standard?

Mmm, whilst it appears as though two students scored 90+ in Standard last year (and technically I suppose this is correct), it is interesting to note that one of the students had a mark of exactly 90 and the other only had 89.5 (but it was rounded up to 90 when it was reported). No-one has...

    Harry Gibbs Constitutional Moot

Interestingly, I am also a member of the UNSW team for this competition. :)

    The HSC Advice Line thread

The AOS exam won't specify a stimulus text: The folks handling the advice line are fantastic and they definitely know the content of their courses, but you should always confirm anything regarding Board of Studies procedures or conduct of examinations with another source.

    Bands

No, that's incorrect. Your raw mark undergoes a process whereby it is "aligned" to the set standards for the course (and is thus typically called an aligned mark). It has nothing to do with the performance of other students. Theoretically, everyone could be given a mark in Band 6 - but they...

    Whats that song called

Unfortunately I usually only have time to deal with queries in the moderators' forum. :( But mixing music is one of my hobbies and I know how tedious it can be to track down a particular song sometimes, so I thought I'd save someone the effort. :)

    Whats that song called

Did you mean... "trying to [catch] your heart"? Overplayed pop semi-dance song? :) Cabin Crew - Star2Fall (Waiting For A Star To Fall) Sunset Strippers - Falling Stars There isn't much difference between those two releases, but from memory one is slightly less repetitive.

    I don't get you SAM!

It's possible to get 100 in all of the courses listed above, and it has happened in the past. Your scaled mark in every unit will be the maximum possible - which, for your courses, is 50 out of 50 = 100%. It therefore doesn't matter which courses will contribute instead of others, because...

Board of Studies reveals 2004 raw marks

If they reject your initial application, you would just need to write to them requesting an internal review ("I write to request an internal review of the decision made on X December 2005 by Joe Bloggs ..."), with the internal review fee attached. They're obliged to give you instructions and...

Number of UAC applicants this year

UAC will likely publish a media release with those sorts of figures soon after the deadline. Keep an eye on this page: http://www.uac.edu.au/releases/releases.html

    1st in course

Just thought I'd confirm that what you've said is correct, fleepbasding. Casmira's post isn't technically correct, but it can be a useful way of thinking about the whole process.

    Selective school scaling

The performance of the other students at your school will determine the range over which the moderated assessment marks are spread, but your ranking will determine which mark is yours within that range. If the "better" school had "better" students, you would typically be ranked lower - which...

    SAM 2005- Before HSC exams?

Before HSC exams... ? Unlikely, sorry. :(

Re: Success One - 2004 HSC Physics Solutions

You have to remember that you can only legally reproduce that "reasonable portion" if it is for YOUR research or study - not for the research or study of others. Obviously, if it's only for your own personal research or study, there's no reason for you to be reproducing the materal on public...

    it doesnt make sense?!?

What seems like a load of bull to me is complaints from students who clearly haven't paid any attention to the warning which says "your trial HSC and school assessment marks may be very different to your aligned HSC marks". If you put the wrong marks in, the wrong result is going to come out.

    Comparative contributions to UAI

Unfortunately, this isn't the case. The marks reported by the Board of Studies are not comparable between courses. Students currently don't get given such marks. Which is a shame.
