You'd know wouldn't you, you sexy hairy thing you.

    ANU Accommodation

Yeah that's pretty much it, just drop by the reception and say if anyone leaves you know, i'm the man/woman for you. Use a threatening voice. Leaving a dead horses head in the Dean's bed is known to be very effective as well. They don't announce if they have vacancies, you just gotta ask...

    ANU/Canberra 2011 Rollcall

Bruce is the best college therefore no one wants to leave. True story. Also studentleader, LAWL YOU'RE F**KED SON. Canberra gets mighty cold. Also winter is not some two month cold snap like it is in other places. Here its solidly wintry for about 6 months. Even in summer we get winter.

    ANU Accommodation

Agreed, lots of people leave because they planned to leave before but just didn't say no to a room just in case and also people who can't deal with living in college but find out too late or my personal favourite, people to decide they can't handle going to university and just kinda leave. Rooms...

Free Migration Agreements as a solution to labour shortages?

Completely open borders will not preserve the Australian way of life that most immigrants come to Australia for anyway. It will also leave the people who currently live in Australia worse off in most ways. A situation none of us want. Capped FMA's (say 500,000 a year with a priority to skilled...

Free Migration Agreements as a solution to labour shortages?

What do you guys think? FMA's with countries that have a similar standard of living as us would create a larger pool of labour for Australian businesses and slow wage inflation. I'm thinking FMA with Canada and EU to start with?

    ANU/Canberra 2011 Rollcall

Just take it and stay while looking for a place to rent off campus. Better have an (expensive) place to stay than no place to stay at all if you ask me.

    ANU Accommodation

With the new UL they should have enough space for everyone who wants to live on-campus no? 500 new places there should sort everyone out considering last year they had 140 stragglers. Highly unlikely that the number of people who want to live on-campus would increase so dramatically. qfa380...

    ANU Accommodation

Sorry to crush your hopes guys but it is nearly impossible to find a rental property in Canberra without searching for one at least two months in advance. Canberra has a 99% rental occupancy rate. I suggest you find a person to stay with while looking for a house, it will take a pretty long...

    ANU/Canberra 2011 Rollcall

Yeah don't worry about it. If you applied on time and stuff you should get a spot without any issues. Last year I had to stay in an off-campus motel for 3 months before they got me a spot in Bruce but that's because of poor planning by the ANU, ie. they over-enrolled and didn't think about the...

    ANU/Canberra 2011 Rollcall

Story of my life mate. I got my accommodation offer literally 3 days before the start of O-Week and this was after camping outside UAS for a week AND doing a rain dance. Anyway don't worry guys you'll all get your offers before O-Week starts. Just keep an eye on the accommodation portal. Anyone...

    ANU@Citigate.......wooo!(sarcastic)

I'm in! It's not bad really. It's been cleaned and ANU has done a good job of upkeep. If you get a single room, it's pretty big and they give you a sofa. Everybody gets a queen sized bed. The deal ANU throws in (food, monthly bus pass etc.) is pretty good as well. NO internet is a pain, (in fact...

when is everyone moving to canberra?

Yes! Not an option of choice but one of lack of choice. And it's slow as well. Wireless broadband is naturally slow..

when is everyone moving to canberra?

I went by today but forgot to take my camera! They didn't allow me to enter but from the exterior I can see that ANU has been carrying out some improvement works on Shitygate. However there is one bit of bad news guys, no internet at shitygate. Like none whatsoever. Only option is to get a...

What electives do you want to take?

Ended up taking ENVS1004, some geology 3rd year told me to take it, vaguely muttered something about it "being useful later".. so much for PHIL1004 :(

    ANU@Citigate.......wooo!(sarcastic)

I've actually checked in Canberra YHA (35$ a night) because the shit motel is far more expensive and is still shit. Haven't had the opportunity to visit City Gateway yet, was just getting used to Canberra yesterday after my 8000km journey. I like Canberra, kinda quaint and quiet, very different...
