Oh thanks for the info! I asked some of the unit coordinators regarding this topic, and it turns out you only need the main textbook - no need for the ones listed as 'reference'. :)

Damn! I can't believe there aren't any proper textbook schemes at UWS! -_- I'm kinda annoyed 'cause we're only using them for one semester, oh well... Anyway, I checked the textbooks required for 'Principles of economics' at the UWSconnect site - must I get everything shown? Even the ones...

Is there a textbook loan scheme at UWS? I don't wanna fork out $500+ worth of books for just one measly semester! :)

I doubt there's anything to worry about; I'm assuming it's just a day to familiarize yourself with the campus/systems and getting the chance to meet your lecturers and peers. :)

Heh, is the advisory day actually compulsory? If so, then I'm very reluctant to attend because I've already sorted out what major I want to undertake and the units required to do so.

^Usually, key programs will give you 8 free electives (you can use those to complete a major or sub-major). It's possible to not major in anything at all, and just choose random units you like or selecting "easy" units to increase your GPA.

Let's say we didn't over 70% for the basic maths test, and would be forced to do the maths toolbox unit or whatever it's called - would this waste your electives? Or will be it like an extra unit?

I'm not really sure about the law-side of things, but for Business & Commerce, the unit sets will indeed apply to you. Anyway, check out the key programs and see which one appeals to you most. For example, you can choose a key program in economics or whatever, it will have compulsory units and...
