    Who has bought their textbooks??

Oh thanks for the info! I asked some of the unit coordinators regarding this topic, and it turns out you only need the main textbook - no need for the ones listed as 'reference'. :)

    Who has bought their textbooks??

^Yup, it sucks indeed. Ah... thanks for your help though! I think it's better for me to just borrow those reference books at the library and read it there. This should reduce the expenses a bit. :)

    Who has bought their textbooks??

Damn! I can't believe there aren't any proper textbook schemes at UWS! -_- I'm kinda annoyed 'cause we're only using them for one semester, oh well... Anyway, I checked the textbooks required for 'Principles of economics' at the UWSconnect site - must I get everything shown? Even the ones...

    Who has bought their textbooks??

Is there a textbook loan scheme at UWS? I don't wanna fork out $500+ worth of books for just one measly semester! :)

    I cant attend orientation week!

I doubt there's anything to worry about; I'm assuming it's just a day to familiarize yourself with the campus/systems and getting the chance to meet your lecturers and peers. :)

Bus & Com Course Advisory Day - What time??

Heh, is the advisory day actually compulsory? If so, then I'm very reluctant to attend because I've already sorted out what major I want to undertake and the units required to do so.

    Enrolment for Business and Commerce

^Usually, key programs will give you 8 free electives (you can use those to complete a major or sub-major). It's possible to not major in anything at all, and just choose random units you like or selecting "easy" units to increase your GPA.

    Enrolment for Business and Commerce

^Well, if you're planning to get accredited with the CPA/CA, consider three electives gone - meaning, you can't major in anything because it requires 8 units to complete (note: you have 8 free electives in this course). A major in finance is an exception though, because it has some of the same...

    Newbie book buyer

Wow, the prices for some of these textbooks are kinda expensive - is there a textbook loan scheme at UWS?

^Check your accounting key program course structure (Unit Set), and input your Autumn unit codes. For example, the compulsory units you have for your first semester are: Year 1 Autumn session 200083.1 Marketing Principles 200101.2 Accounting Information for Managers 200336.1...

    Basic Maths Skills Test

Let's say we didn't over 70% for the basic maths test, and would be forced to do the maths toolbox unit or whatever it's called - would this waste your electives? Or will be it like an extra unit?

    Stressed!

^I'm undertaking an accounting key program (which can be considered as a major) and majoring in finance. :)

    Stressed!

I'm not really sure about the law-side of things, but for Business & Commerce, the unit sets will indeed apply to you. Anyway, check out the key programs and see which one appeals to you most. For example, you can choose a key program in economics or whatever, it will have compulsory units and...

    Stressed!

^If you want a bit more information/help regarding units, you can pm me or ask some questions in this thread so I can try and answer them (might be useful for others too).

    Stressed!

^Check out your course structure, and see how many 'electives' you have. For example, in my Business & Commerce degree, I have 8 free electives in total. To complete a major, you will need 8 units (electives), a sub-major on the other hand only requires 4 units. So in the end, I have a choice of...

^It's probably the delay/lag causing the problem due to the immense traffic; you should wait for a few hours or so. If it still doesn't change, then you should give them a call/e-mail, provide them with your student ID number and tell them your problem. :)

^Untick Sport Management and click confirm. My friend had a similar problem 'cause he accidentally selected two majors. Anyway, it should look something like this:
