I was just wondering if Biology in Focus is worth using as part of bio notes, because it's way too detailed and most of the time it's irrelevant to others notes on BOS and Heinemann biology....any suggestions? I've bought it, that's why I want to know.

Yeah I hand write mine, definitely. Unless I start falling asleep or if I want to add in additional notes (to not feel dumb) at times, then yes, I type. It takes time, you don't have to memorise it all just now. Just have a fair idea, that's all. It's all worth it when you face it in class...

I don't know my ranks yet... I think at the moment: top 10 or 12...

Well, I'm glad that someone studies like I do. That's EXACTLY what I do, and it takes me 5 days... I have as much info, but they're all relevant but go in deeper detail. I have around 6-7 sets of notes. When are you planning to finish the full course notes by?

at least you bothered to mash riley and another book together. I can't understand my notes if I use riley, I completely agree with you. It's so out of tune as compared to other books. I haven't used Dixon, but I use leading edge. I would probably take some stats out from that book and only use...

That's the thing. I don't make detailed study planners, because I don't end up following them. Procrastination is one of the reasons, but it's not always that. So I usually jot down the activities I need to get done at the start of the day for the entire day. This way, I don't feel that I'm...

I'd like to know especially for english.....How to improve?? I did pretty bad in my first assessment which was worth 25%, and I'm aiming for a 98+.

How did you fare in your internal assessments? How were they scaled?

I'm talking about all my subjects: business, eco, chem, bio.......I don't know, but I'm not very happy of how much I'm studying. But I am making progress... No, I am not exactly sacrificing my social life, I don't seem to be having a big one that's all.

Yeah I'm planning to make trigger notes later, after I finish writing my detailed notes, because it helps me to remember and retain more of the textbook stuff. It may not work out for everyone, but do whatever suits YOU. Trigger notes, that is a summary of summaries!

But if it's ranks that matter more, are you saying that what you score actually may not be what your HSC mark turns out?

I got 72% for chem and 82% for bio.....so I'm stuck there and it was worth 15%.....Arrgghh.... but I liked my start for business 91%, maths 2u 89 and maths 3u 87...... I'm still aiming high.......98.....hope I get there...... OH and can someone tell me.....How on earth do people do soo well...

Hey, about eco notes... I find it very time consuming and hard to memorise my notes when I refer to tim riley;s book, so is it ok if I just summarise the concept from The Global Economy (school book)? And then just grab out some stats from other books or something? Because that will make my life...

When did you start studying hard then? And did you focus more on learning your content thoroughly before past papers, or just jumped straight into those papers like how everyone suggests you do? How rigid was your study schedule?

Ok I can try. Should i start off doing practice questions now, or should I wait for another month or two?
