This is only true if you break school rules or state laws (eg sell drugs, bash another student). Provided a student makes a serious attempt in class and in assessment tasks, then they cannot be removed from the course.

Yes you can take up a VET course in Year 12 only, but you will have to complete 4 units in one year (240 indicative hours) in order to sit the optional exam for contribution to the UAI.

If you pick up another course you must have completed the Preliminary component (Year 11).

Single marking is limited to those examinations where the responses are highly objective in nature: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Engineering Studies, General Mathematics, Information Proceses and Technology, Mathematics, Mathematics Extension 1, Mathematics Extension 2...

Not necessarily. His exam mark (37/50) may have been a depressed score and omitted from initial moderation. The moderated assessment mark (49/50) would then have been calculated by interpolation between the moderated assessment of the second-ranked student and 50/50.
