I can't wait to never have to do English ever again. Apart from that, I'll miss it a lot. No, no he did not.

So the marks are going from 120 to 100

All the HSC papers I've looked at have started simple and got progressively harder, finishing with what tends to be a fairly hard harder 3 unit question, generally involving sums or the like - the stereotypical q8. What I meant was that I hope they don't get rid of this format; they could change...

So the marks are going from 120 to 100

I'm hoping they get rid of: - The easy question 1 integrals - Questions like "prove that the equation of the tangent to the hyperbola is blah" and instead give us the equations and ask us to do something interesting with them. - Simple complex numbers questions (e.g. find z+w) I'll be unhappy...

    Question

Cut the wire into two pieces of length x and A-x respectively and make one into a circle, one into a square. Find the areas of the circle/square in terms of x and then differentiate to find the x-value at which the minimum occurs. Sub that back in and you'll get the answer.

    Complex Numbers

You can also do it graphically. Plot the points z and 1 on the argand diagram. Then draw in z+1. You'll get a parallelogram with vertices 0, 1, z, z+1 and diagonals z+1 and z-1. Now since the diagonals of a parallelogram intersect at 90 degrees, after some rearranging you'll have...

4U Decision: Please provide any advice you can give

Chemistry is one of the best scaling subjects (although you shouldn't let this affect your decision)

    CSSA/IND Papers

I know that we're not allowed to post them here due to copyright infringement and all that, but is there any place to acquire them legally? Do they publish a book full of past papers (like success one) or anything?

    Trigonometry Question from Cambridge Y11

Change the cosec^2s into cot^2s and expand. Then change the 1+tan^2s into sec^2s, then multiply top and bottom by cos^2

    HSC + Weight Gain?

I'm the complete opposite - I'm meant to be bulking but I've put on a negligible amount since halfway through last term. I just can't be bothered eating.

Are we are allow to use L'Hospital's Rule for lim question

Pretty sure that if you want to use something outside the syllabus you have to derive it.

    Reading Time

I do MC in my head. It's seriously not hard to remember a string of 5-10 letters, so I don't know why you'd bother marking your paper when that can get you kicked out.
