I used Maths In Focus for both year 11 and year 12, No other textbooks no tutoring, and I am achieving high marks in 2U (generally +95%for past papers_ and a good mark in 3U (roughly +80% for past papers). New format

It won't be more difficult to get a band 6 as it is the same question styles but it is hard to judge where the cutoff will lie with less marks for the test and also have 10 multiple choice, which can potential lower the difficulty of the exam making the cutoff higher due to 10 easy marks
  9. B

    New format

Didn't Your trials cover the new format? question 1-10 Will be Multiple Choice (unknown on the difficulty as we are the experiment year so be prepared for either a line of working or a page for just one mark) Questions 11-16 will have parts like the old formats but this time out of 15 marks...

Cal in physical world rate of change

Yeah I get the fact that it doesn't matter about whether it is positive or negative, as you can just use common sense to figure out it is decreasing or increasing. But the question I am trying to solve is MC so they have provided a negative and positive solution for both, so that's why im trying...

Cal in physical world rate of change

Okay so if defined in a given formula it should be a positive constant value how about this one then The population of a town is falling at a constant rate, so that after 25 years the population will have halved, and dP/dt =-kP , where P is the population of the town and t is the time in...

Cal in physical world rate of change

Hey just an easy simple question, so if i am to find k for a question and it is decreasing. Will my value of k be negative or is the negative supplied in the equation, so k is always a positive value? Eg. Ten kilograms of chlorine is placed in water and begins to dissolve. After t hours...

  17. B

    timber products and furniture industry

yeah so dam annoying the way they throw you off. For question 7 yeah I said that internal panels need movement. But for question 3 i read into to much depth I think, the question asked for factors causing hardness, from engineering I have learnt that strength and elasticity where properties so...

    timber products and furniture industry

No I chucked in marquetry because I thought hey why would they make up a different name for the exact same thing, parquetry is right but, Im just so annoyed that is unfair that they would put that in.

    Tick box essential?

if you wrote on the front of the booklet that it had another page eg. 1 of 2 then it won't be that essential but it probably just made a harder job for the markers now.

General Thoughts: English Standard Paper 2

SO HAPPY ENGLISH IS OVER  The test wasn't to bad, seeing as I went in with no prepared essays, managed to write 7 pages for section 1 and 3 and only 6 for section 2. Pretty simple test just killed my arm
