Successful flexible entry application to USYD's BA (Media and Communications)

Yay! I have finally typed up everything in my brain that I know about this flexible entry. Take a look and tell me if there's anything I should add or that you've learnt, since you too were successful.

Where can I buy a hard copy of the handbooks?

Hey, not sure about about other faculties, but I received a letter about the enrolment at the Arts faculty and I was told that when I enrol, I was receive the faculty handbook for free.

What exactly do you do when you enrol at USYD?

Oh please, BigDk, haven't you ever heard of preparation? I've heard horror stories of people who've taken up to 7 hours to enrol, an unfortunate thing that I can only attribute to lack of preparation. Anyway, I've got my answers. Thank you very much. Rafy, thank you. I'll remember to post there...

What exactly do you do when you enrol at USYD?

Ah thanks! I think that's all I need to know for now. I'll bring entertainment for the day to read/listen while I queue up.

What exactly do you do when you enrol at USYD?

USYD's enrolment days are next week and I'm wondering if someone could give a step-by-step run through off typical enrolment procedure? Also, is that when they take photos and things? (Just so I know to be prepared, haha.) Thanks!

    commonwealth supported places

UTS explained it very nicely in one of their handouts: Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) If you are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand or a permanent resident, you can study at undergraduate level in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). In a CSP the federal government pays part of your...

    UAC Offer slips

After the HSC, I changed my name. (As in, I rearranged my full name so that the first name appears as a middle name, instead of as as before. Don't worry, I'm not a fugitive. :P) Anyway, the school rang up BOS to update them about the name change, but UAC still has my old name. When I bring in...

    I don't understand??

Note that UTS does offer bonus points for certain course choices or even subjects that you have done in the HSC. Go to UTS: HSC Bonus Scheme - University of Technology, Sydney to see if any of that applies to you. These points are added automatically to your UAI.

Successful flexible entry application to USYD's BA (Media and Communications)

I just received the good news that I got into USYD's BA (Media and Communications). Now, my UAI was 96.75 but together with my written application and portfolio, I have made it! For anyone interested, I am posting some things I learnt about the flexible entry (and also about the Broadway...

how many writing books/folders are you gonna get?

In high school, I used to carry around a big binder folder that had all the notes I needed for subjects that day. We didn't really bring text books to school as we had our own copy at home and when we needed to use it at school, the teachers would either inform us before hand or they'll just...

Ok now I'm getting a little desperate

I'm not sure if this helps since it may be a little late, but it's worth calling up USYD at 8627 8200 to check if your access application was successful. My application was successful but I, like many others, failed to get an email due to some problems they were having.

    Anomalous Remarks

That's true. There's a major discrepancy between the standards of marking for the internal and external assesments for English Ext 2. There are a lot of people in my school who drop a lot when it comes to the external assessment.

help! are UAC final preferences due at 12am tonight or tmr night?

Well, sort of. I had my preferences set since the UAIs came out, but I just came back from the university advisory day and am now absolutely set on entering USYD, which affects my choices somewhat.

help! are UAC final preferences due at 12am tonight or tmr night?

I know the UAC final changes to preferences for the main round are due on 7 January at 12 am. Now, maybe I'm overthinking it, but is that 12am tonight or tomorrow night (though that would technically make it 8 January...)
