    does √c + e = √(c + e^2)

Square both sides: LHS = c+2e√c+e2 RHS = c+e2 => From this we can conclude: LHS ≠ RHS ∴ √LHS ≠ √RHS, where e≠0, c≠0. Unless of course e is standing for Euler's number, in which case the situation is never true, for all c>0.

    Comparison of Math

We haven't done the derivation (yet), but it is quite simple to learn it yourself. Just check wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euler%27s_formula http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euler%27s_identity

Umm yeah, of course you haven't? You're in year 11.

I failed my 2u maths test

That would depend entirely on the student's perspective.

    Make notes

The theoretical value for the combustion of ethanol is 1409.4kJ/mol, after checking some sources. We only learnt it to be 1360kJ/mol, so meh. The value you gave is very close to the molar heat of combustion of methanol, so perhaps therein lies your mistake. Just trying to help out :)

    4u Mathematics Marathon V 1.0

    [(√3 + 1) + (√3 - 1)i]3 = 16(1 + i) LHS: [(√3 + 1) + (√3 - 1)i]3 = (√3-i)3(1+i)3 (After taking a common factor) = -8i(1+i)3 = -8i(-2+2i) = 16(1+i) = RHS EDIT: Couldn't really bother putting the whole working out here, I'm just tired that's all.

    Dates

Hey guys, need help on this one. I'm wondering if it is too formal (by today's standards) to just ask someone out on a date at this age? As in, to go to the movies, or have lunch together or anything like that. It's just that it seems to me that this gesture would be so unfamiliar that it may be...

plz help me with my chem questions

    4. Na2CO3(aq)+2HCl(aq) ---> H2O(l)+CO2(g)+2NaCl(aq) Moles of HCl that reacted completely with the sodium carbonate present in the washing soda = 0.020 * 0.250 = 0.005 mol. From the balanced equation we see that the moles of Na2CO3(aq) are then 0.5 * 0.005 = 0.0025 mol. Therefore the mass of...

I got the same answer. So it's likely that we're correct.

    A question

That's exactly right. Just remember that ph = -log[H3O+] and that the pH of pure water is 7.0 at 25oC. The pH will decrease as there is an increase in hydronium ions, however acidity will not change as there is an increase in hydroxide ions by the same amount.

    Which should I choose??

Oh noes! :( Thursday 2:00AM FTW  No seriously, you have ages, don't worry about it.

    The Simpsons vs Family Guy

Woot, I would have to agree with bazookajoe. Family Guy and American Dad are shit!!!! Futurama>Simpsons>Family Guy>American Dad. However the last few seasons of the Simpsons have been so fucking bad it's painful to experience.

    Motivated or Procrastinated

I'm a serious procrastinator. No seriously, I see my hopes for 99.95+ wasting away if I don't get my act together soon.

10 units with 4 unit maths

I do it, I find it fine. As long as you have enough motivation it should be a breeze. Plus, having only 10 units is motivation in itself, as your vying to do well in all your subjects and you have no back-up (at least I find it motivational). What are you going to drop?
