    General Thoughts

Haha do you know what a preservative is... It makes the food last longer.. Flavoring is different

    General Thoughts

I think you're supposed to write how acids reduce the living pH conditions of bacteria and therefore bacteria can't thrive. This increases shelf lives of food. That's what I wrote. And PS: yeah you're right realize, its 30, cos the graph going down just indicates that the temperature isn't...

Guys why is Q2 C? I thought AAS only measures metal IONS..
  4. D

    General Thoughts

nah but i wrote (assume that he put the final temperature was when measurements stopped, which was at 40 degrees celsius). Not sure if that's what you're supposed to do. I know some used the 50

    General Thoughts

Chem is probably the only exam I'm happy with atm (lost <5 marks so far, hoping for 93-94+ HSC mark).. could've done better in 4u and eng T_T

    General Thoughts

haha mate its the same thing. 1 kelvin increase = 1 degrees celsius increase.. doesn't matter

    General Thoughts

    Specific heat capacity = 3.202 J/gK

    Multiple Choice

Nah it's not, it's like a titration. As long as you have the same number of moles of acetic and HCl (cos theyre both monoprotic), the same volume of NaOH is required. (like how the same volume of NaOH is required to reach equivalence point of HCl and Acetic, both monoprotic)

shit are you serious !! I thought AAS could only measure metal ions.. was full stumped on that, with A or C.. :(

    Raw for band 6

no way, first in states are around 96-97..? state ranking is 96+

    Raw for band 6

holy crap... no fricken way !!! that's so shit

    Indicator Question

Same equation as me for the second one. I didn't write the first. And i said when an acid is added, it removes OH- ions favouring backwards (turning indicator red) and when base is added, OH- increase and therefore favouring forwards, turning green.

    Shipwrecks

For the graph, unsure if you're meant to do a curve of best fit. I did a STRAIGHT line of best fit cos we never do curves of best fit for chem (well at least not in my school) -> Estimated 9.4 mg/L As for the 7 marker, I said Volta contributed the greatest so didn't really talk about Galvani...

Possibilities of getting a state rank?

Maybe that or.. According to my teacher (HSC Marking supervisor), when lots of people get full marks, it all comes down to your working out and how you set out your solutions. Which seems pretty legit as it can distinguish between the top few people. And also, to get FIRST in STATE you'll need...

Possibilities of getting a state rank?

State rank is also affected by internal marks. I came 2nd at school for 2u and got 100, but first person also got 100 and she came 6th in state. And I think if she hadn't gotten 100 exam mark I probably wouldn't hve gotten that state rank unless other People also got 100 which resulted in my 100...

Which past papers are the best for physics and chemistry?

So I'm aiming for 90+ for Physics and 93+ for chem. I've finished the success one HSC books for both (2001 - 2012 HSC) and now I'm unsure of what school's past papers to do. Does anyone have any recommendations? Which school's papers would be most close in 'imitating' the HSC? OR Which paper do...

    Physics and Chemistry

Revise notes (make sure covered all of syllabus), and then past papers. It's all about how well you can apply your knowledge to the questions (For chem there's more rote learning, while physics is actually 'applying')
  19. D

How many past papers have you done ?

Maths Ext 2 - 30+ (did like 3 each day) Chem - 7 (so far) Physics - 8 (so far)
