Re: Early Entry for 2009 anyone? How early did they have the interviews for you? i though most people didn't find out till about 4 weeks before the hsc. The interviews this year are at the end of september and hsc starts mid october. just curious thats all probably me just being padantic (sp?)

no trust me i am following your advice cause i do understand the difficulty in getting a job in trading. what exactly is derivatives trading is it futures? and yeah i wasn't intending on sticking only to equities i just figured i would get a better response then just traders etc

thank you yet again tell me if wrong but i assume hedge funds wouldn't take grad traders also would the business cadetships that are being offered at westpac etc offer trading or similar or not thanks yet again

well just for my 2c i would like to put in that i have always been told that uow is good for mechanical and materials due to bluescope steel and the cadetships they offer of course i am biast :)

just a query from what i have read around the place to get into trading you generally need a strong mathematical background. would doing a maths and finance degree be good to get into trading and are there many trader jobs going around thanks in advance

i noticed that UTS didn't seem to have a commerce degree only a business one i was wondering if this would be viewed differently to a commerce degree or not thanks

well my maths teacher told me about this degree cause his son was doing it and hoping to get into IB maths degrees show your level of logical thinking and you also use calculus for the stockmarket and other higher levels of maths thats what i have heard anyway

ok so your saying that UNSW or Usyd are better then UOW for maths and finance? is that your opinion or is there something that i could read to back your statement up

i am hoping to get into the bachelor of mathematics and finance at UOW and was wondering if anyone else had done it. Eventually want to get into hedge funds anyone know if that degree suits it? heard that you normally don't get in as a grad anyone know how you would? start in a managed fund? cheers
