    Official UWS Student List 2010

Welcome, first years. 1 year of my undergrad to go, hooray :)

TPC: Attendance and Scaling of B modules

Congrats! That's a great result. What degree are you looking at doing? Yeah, a guy who did his TPC with me got into physio at Sydney and I think his TES was in the 220-230's from memory, so it wouldn't surprise me if mature age students are favoured.

TPC: Attendance and Scaling of B modules

It wasn't by more than a few points, because I got into my second main round preference (not first), but changed preferences and got into my first late round preference so it worked out ok :)

uac offer - early and feburarry round

Yes. I got a main round offer in 2008 for B.A at Macquarie (first preference), accepted that. Then I changed around my preferences and got a late round offer for B.A at UWS (new first preference), accepted that one and withdrew my acceptance from Mac.

TPC: Attendance and Scaling of B modules

Hah, I wish. You can divide your TES by 3 to get an estimate, but UAC will scale it...in my case down.

    UWS Early Offers

You could still receive an offer in the main round, if you change your preferences to have BA(psych) and social science before BPsych. Then you choose what offer to accept and what to decline. If you still have BPsych as your first preference, you won't be considered for the lower preferences as...

uac offer - early and feburarry round

^ If you've changed your preferences though, you'll be considered for the new highest preference (in OP's case: health science) in later rounds. Then if you receive more than one offer, you choose which one to accept.

    working around uni holidays

I have a friend who works at a bar during uni, and then comes back to Sydney in her holidays. Wherever you work, it'd definitely depend on how large the place is, the smaller the workplace, the more likely they are to depend on you being available.

TPC: Attendance and Scaling of B modules

Pretty sure the results are forwarded on to UAC. If you're all registered and have preferences done I wouldn't worry. I never needed to do anything special when I went through. Yeah, USYD is pretty selective in what courses you can do with a TPC, which is why I didn't consider them (not to...

TPC: Attendance and Scaling of B modules

The TES will be reported on the official transcript. It's the UAI that UAC does not release. In 2007 I'm sure I got my transcript the week before Christmas. I'm not sure why it's so late this year.. might be worth calling the TAFE NSW Information Centre on 131 601.

    Rules for Customers

Yeah, it seems the majors have more lenient return policies than the little guys. I've had a mate at Rebel Sport say that can do exchanges without receipts but of course when I went in there, different story. But really, it's common sense. Without a receipt, how do we know when you've bought...

    Rules for Customers

Why the fuck do customers think they can get an exchange or refund without a receipt? I'm not aware of ANY store that will do one without proof of purchase. There's signs all over the shop, at point or sale, and on the receipt itself saying to keep the receipt in case of exchange. and we warn...

TPC: Attendance and Scaling of B modules

Wow nice those are great marks! You may top the state with a lot of those, wouldn't be surprised if you got 300...we had a perfect 300 at my campus the year I went through.

No open days at Campbelltown campus

I think the UWS open day is at Parramatta but applies for students intending to study at all campuses. I went to Parra even though my course is only at Bankstown and Penrith.

how hard is it to get into UWS?

My sister got 89 as her UAI, went into Med Sci. Pretty sure she got her offer in main round, though this was back in 2004.

    Question about psychology at UWS

^ I did biology in my senior years, which certainly helped when doing biological psychology. Maths is good too, as there can be some tricky stats involved. If you're concerned that you're undertaking psych without these subjects, the student learning centre offers bridging courses (usually...

    Penrith vs Bankstown Campus

What degree are you doing? I also live in the hills and go to Penrith, but if I could stand the traffic I would go to Bankstown because my degree has far more psych electives offered there. Penrith is a nice campus though :)

    Calling in sick to work

Yeah, I always try and find my replacement too because my boss is always running around doing things and will likely forget and have no one show up haha. You work with food hey, Kiim? Don't feel guilty about calling in sick, I wouldn't want a sick person around a customers food. Get well :)

TPC: Attendance and Scaling of B modules

Good luck guys :). It's a very satisfying feeling to finish! I miss TPC, it was a fun year!

TPC: Attendance and Scaling of B modules

As far as I remember, from my TPC results sheet, both my raw and scaled marks were reported... this was back in 2007 though.
