    Commitment, or lack thereof.

I am pretty happy with the arrangement at the moment...but would like something a bit more romantic. He's not seeing any other girls, so it is somewhat of an 'exclusive casual' thing. He's always been afraid of commiting though, which annoys me because I've hung around and proved that i'm...

    Commitment, or lack thereof.

Ok, picture this: You've dated someone for 8 months (that you've known for years) and it's still in a "casual" and unofficial stage. You really like this person and have wanted to make it official for some time now, but when speaking about this to them they are unsure that they are "ready" to...

Crappiest car if you've ever driven!

A nissan vector which I think is 20 years old. Piece of shit owned by a piece of shit ex. In second place, a friends mirage (around 1998) with broken power steering. Thank god I bought my car new.

    General Pants

I had a guy who also worked at General Pants do a few shifts with me at my work. Intense, hipster, douche - enough said.

Tafe semester 2 enrolments close today...

That's a really good idea, I talked to the TAFE counsellor on my campus before enrolling and she gave me about 6 different options on how I should combine work and study - it was so useful!

    TPC Textbooks

HAHA yeah TAFE is notorious for being secretive about information, you've really got to research or nag to find things out :haha:. Some classes will run in a lecture style format, so loose leaf paper or a lecture pad will be useful. Calculator obviously for maths and the sciences and yes...

    Opinions of this uni?

^ Sad to hear you're transferring, but enjoy Notre Dame. I have a mate there who absolutely loves the place. I've had a really good experience at UWS so far. Haven't run into any awful lecturers or tutors and I find the admin (enrolling in classes especially) very user friendly. I have friends...

    TPC Textbooks

I did my TPC in 2007 without any textbooks...whenever I needed to look something up I used whatever Prelim/HSc textbooks were in the library. Teachers give out a LOT of worksheets so bring a large folder with plastic sleeves to class to keep them all in!

Tafe semester 2 enrolments close today...

From what I've read, I would suggest you look for employment ASAP. I had a friend do a Cert II in Retail and while it is beneficial, it's also quite general and a lot of it can be covered in on the job training. A lot of jobs will pay for you to to study a traineeship as well as work..so I...

    Question about submajors

It's not a stupid question, it is also a question I wish I knew about myself. I would ask the student centre or course coordinator on this one. I don't have a elected submajor (and I don't know of any psych students who do have one, only humanities students) but I still do other arts subjects...

    LOSE your P LICENCE?

Losing 4 demerit points for any speeding offence as a P1 driver is not a new law, it has been in place for at least a year. My P1 licence was suspended for three months for one low range speeding offence in January 2009 - I wasn't very far above the speed limit either. From 1st July, 2009 all...

    How's Psychology in UWS?

UAI cutoffs are basically determined on a case of supply and demand and may not be a true reflection of how good a course may be. I remember reading an article on NSW uni's a few years ago and UWS has the largest student numbers by a large margin, so it is fair to say more places offered = more...

    Who Loves their Job

Fashion retail, it's mostly good. Good music, friendly coworkers, discounted clothing which we preview before it's on the floor, plus an invite to an occasional party thrown by our suppliers. I get given a bunch of resumes a week from kids and I don't blame them - it seems a pretty easy job...

    The McDonald's Thread

I had my resume registered on Coles' system for a year, with no response. Officeworks threw out my resume and I have 6 years retail experience, 3 at a supervisor level! Major retailers are constantly flooded with resumes - have you tried looking at smaller local businesses? Local newspapers are...

    2009 Autumn Semester Examination Period

Oh yeah, turning them off would be even better, I did hear faint buzzing in my last exam... I personally have my vibrate turned off, it annoys me.

Bankstown B.A Texts and Traditions 2009 Spring Session, EXPENSIVE TEXTBOOKS

There's no point in you completing a BA if you don't enjoy it.

    Apple Retail

Have you considered Next Byte? They may be a reseller of Apple, but you'd be working with the same products...

Bankstown B.A Texts and Traditions 2009 Spring Session, EXPENSIVE TEXTBOOKS

Do you know what texts you'll be studying this semester? I did Texts and Traditions in Autumn 2008 and still have the unit reader plus three texts if you want to buy them off me - PM me if you do. The university may have varied the texts slightly but anything you can get second hand helps...

TPC: Can you get your cert, then do more subjects the following year?

Yep, I can also vouch for the humanities not necessarily being "easy". If you're good at constructing an argument, sure essays will be ok to do - but some of the concepts you learn can be quite abstract and hard to grasp. And if you get a harsh marker... A year in a science undergrad may give...
