bitmaps suck... they take up way more space, and jpegs are generally more compatible with my programs, i always work with jpegs. does she have a mac?

just use the picture viewing software. if you go into windows explorer and double click on the file, to open it in picture viewer, you can edit it there and change the size. really, you can do it in any image editting software, just resize it and save the picture.
