Historical Period: 'Persia from Cyrus II to the death of Darius III'?

Hey, I'm looking to purchase/download/find some extra material for my historical period Persia from Cyrus II to the death of Darius III. I'm just wondering, what will the topic be focused on? I'm guessing its the building of the Persian empire and 'ancient imperialism' since that's what the...

Should we be attempting to 'solve' our historiography?

Hey, I am writing about the changing nature of the depiction of an historical event. I began examining three sources, after introducing each source, I then discussed how/why they differ over time. Now I am beginning to use archaeological evidence to prove/disprove the sources. Should I be...

After the Bomb - Related texts

Thanks for the reply! I've got about 40 pages left of Catch-22, although I wish I knew this before I read it, I've probably missed heaps of allusions and references to 'after the bomb'. Thanks.

They thanks for the reply. Our teacher only gave us vague details about what this topic was about. Is there something on Boardofstudies.org that gives a list of what I should be covering? I think We were told about cold-war anxiety (paranoia/fear) and Espionage, but the other two are new to...

Hey thanks for that! I Do own the excel textbooks, however I was referring that there are not HSC guides specifically on Xerxes. In modern we are looking at Leni Riefenstahl and I just purchased a HSC study guide on her. I will give the Brennan 'Interpreting the evidence' books a look, thanks!

    History Ext Reading:

Thanks that really cleared everything up. We have gone into detail about the context/bias/methodologies of many historians from Herodotus to Marxist Christopher Hill. So, is the question is generally about the changing nature of History-writing? Would we quote a few readings and discuss how...

    History Ext Reading:

Hey, I'm looking to study those History Ext readings. We've covered only two: Herodotus and Von Ranke. I understand that each states their belief of what the purpose of history is, but what are we supposed to do with them? Are we supposed to throw them into a response showing the changing...

I second the need for Xerxes notes, we're about to start studying him and I don't think they make excel textbooks for ancient personalities. Also what Pompeii+Sparta notes do you have?

    Quick Question on Pompeii homes:

Thanks: 'Remember both Pompeii and Herculaneum are highly commercial towns in Campania. Their central focus was commerce and the economy, similar to that of a business industry' That line adds some sense to it.

Can anyone tell me the dates of the half-yearlies and trial HSC.

I'm pretty sure half-yearlies vary depending on the school, so does anyone have a rough timeframe for that, or the exact date of the trials? Thanks.

    Quick Question on Pompeii homes:

Thanks I'll give that source a look. It still seems pretty illogical that 3 out of the 4 types of houses had shops incorporated in them. I'll have to read up on it as housing is one of the only aspects of Pompeii I cannot understand. Thanks.

    Quick Question on Pompeii homes:

I've been going over my notes and I have written down that most homes in Pompeii had a shop in the front of them. Is this right? Most of them? How could every home have a shop in the front of it?
