    What are you attracted to?

I would say that for me it's neither. you can't account for why you feel drawn to someone- it's inexplicable. But, with the rose-tinted glasses, you will convince yourself a person you like has both looks and personality- because invariably you will put them on a pedestal.

    keeping you awake

Yeah, I see your point. I acknowledge that occasional reliance on caffine for a night cramming session is somewhat inevitable. Yet, I see myself the repercussions of studying like this on a consistant basis, as my friends who rely solely on this method are now a) always tired during the day...

    Hitler's totalitarian society.

Valid criticism, but there's not much point writing 6000 word essays (unless its an at home assessment that requires this much) when you have 40 mins in the HSC. Her length is fine.

    Turning pints of WW1

I would also mention the withdrawal of Russia.

How to write WW1 Notes (help please!!!)

I write notes for each syllabus point (fairly etailed). Mine are about 20 pages typed.

    Have a balanced life

That's the worst routine ever. You might feel as though your achieving in the short-term, but take it from me: come halfway through yr 12 ( as i have), and you'll see that anyone who relied on this nocturnal study regime is a) burnt-out and b) always sick because the insufficient sleep has...

    Capitalism or Communism?

Um, Early C20th, the communist school of thought permeated global consciousness. It was a very influential ideology. If it weren't, I can assure you the Chinese and Russian would not have attempted to implement it, and the Americans certainly wouldn't have been so apprehensive of it.

    The Outsider.

    UAI!! Stressed out

If you're doing 4 hrs a day of study and still achieving marks of this calibre, I doubt your study is productive. I would suggest re-evaluating your study techniques. This whole '4 hrs a day' thing obviously isn't helping you achieve the marks you deserve.

    keeping you awake

I would say the most effective way to deal with this would be to get sufficient sleep in the first place and study at reasonable hours.

    Capitalism or Communism?

No but, like, isn't that the inherent flaw of communism? That in literature and academic dissertation etc etc: i.e in an essentially theoretical sense people would be better off under communism, only that when someone actually attempts to implement it, it degenerates into an equally repressive...

    kyoto ratification

No. I think its a load of crap. The targets prescribed are unrealistic and economically unsustainable. Case in point: New Zealand, which is largely agricultural and cannot possibly cut any more on emission is facing sanction for not meeting the targets.

How much do you like your subjects?

I dropped EE2 like 2nd lesson: I sort of freaked out and was like "major work??? wtf was i thinking?" Sometimes I breifly regret it, but otehrwise I think it was a good choice.

    Essay swapping

I think something like this is a good idea. I'm happy to pool resources, but at the same time I can see the point of those who complain that people who can't be bothered/ can't think of original ideas will just plagiarise. Nevertheless, if the everyone does well in the HSC is is ultimately...

08er...i will finish high school this year and...

lolz. That's your answer to everything. cxlxoxk: If you are unsure of what you want to do, the best course of action is doing a broad degree in uni, and then taking it from there.

    Essay swapping

My teacher wants to do this thing leading up to the english assessment where everyone's essay is photocopied and shared around the class. Some people are happy about, some are not. Do you guys think this is a productive idea, or just a way that people can 'steal' the ideas of others?

    Scientific Paradigms

Though its a common one, Mary Shelleys's Frankenstein is very good for demonstrating the scientific paradigms of the 19th century, and also for reflecting the apprehension at the mass scientific advancement.

    Official Apology Thread

Re: Did you support Rudd's apology? Whilst I respect the ATSI's were mismanaged by previous governments, I don't think the current generation should be held accountable. I mean, has the german government apologised for the Nazi regime? Has the Chinese government apologised for Maoist...
