    Question 7

I agree with you, though I think it will be a 50/50 chance that the BOS made it a or c, or maybe someone will pre-emptively complain and it will end up being one of those questions where both a and c are accepted.

    scaling for eco?

If you think you're going to get between 61-74, I'd be guessing that you'd need a 70+ to get a bottom band 5, I think a 61 would be a mid band 4.

    Question 7

At the natural rate of unemployment, are we supposed to presume there is any level of underemployment or hidden unemployment?

US military launches attack on SYRIA

    complete idiot or troll?
  5. Garygaz

why arent there 2 separate things for music 1 and 2?

Nah dude, I agree with OP, they are different courses so there should be different sub-forums. Maybe just because there is a small candidature?

    Section I: Multiple Choice

Re: Multiple choice answers Except for the fact that the long run phillips curve isn't taught at HSC level, the back of Dixon's book states that it is not a part of the syllabus. Check the Question 7 thread, I explained it there.

US military launches attack on SYRIA

I, for one, welcome our new Syrian overlords.
  8. Garygaz

    Question 7

Actually after much deliberation, I've come to think you are right. The long-run phillips curve is not taught under the HSC syllabus. At the end of Dixon's book, it says in appendix: b, where there is the information relating to this, that The analysis in this section is not required under the...

    Question 7

Yea true, different books address it differently, it will be interesting to see what the BOS puts down for it.
  10. Garygaz

    Question 7

Runnable, so you think it is a) or c)? Because technically you can argue both.

    Question 7

Let me end this debate, once and for all. The question states: What would be the initial impact of an increase in aggregate demand when an economy is at its natural rate of employment? From Tim Dixon's book: The natural rate theory says that there will always be some level of frictional...

what raw mark do you need to get a band 6???

If i remember correctly, in 2006 an exam mark of 94/120 equated to an external mark of 90/100. Considering 2006 was an easy exam too, I'm guessing around the same.
  13. Garygaz

    Question 7

From Page 360 of Dixon's book: The natural rate theory says that there will always be some level of frictional, structural, seasonal, and hard-core unemployment, that cannot be addressed through demand-management or macroeconomic policies. If a government uses expansionary macroeconomic...

    Section II : Short Answer

Umm Economic development: Is a broad measure of welfare in a nation that includes indicators of health, education and environmental quality as well as material living standards. I don't see how Russia moving from a communist economy to a market economy is economic development :s?
  15. Garygaz

    Section I: Multiple Choice

So... we came to the agreement that 7 is c) or a) ? From Dixon's book The natural rate of employment refers to the level of unemployment at which there is no cyclical unemployment, i.e. where the economy is at full employment. So from an HSC point of view, with its closed views on...

    Does God exist?

I believe there has always been something. It's hard to fathom, though. Mind blowing. Something always existing pretty much breaks every the chain of everything else in the universe. I was thinking today, God is often described as omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. Omnipotence (Omni...

    Does God exist?

I've thought about this, though in the end, if there is a God, I don't think we could use logic to understand why things are the way they are. If God created the universe, his level of thinking would be beyond our understanding, therefore if he wished for us to worship him, then using our basic...

    Does God exist?

Well considering I have 5 exams next week, even one would be a bad idea. I was agreeing with Shakespear, I was saying that to danpayne, not him : /

    Does God exist?

    Ignorance is bliss.
