You need a bare minimum of 2gb of ram to use vista for gaming on decent settings, and 4gb for really good performance. My friend has recorded vista using 700mb of ram at idle. When gaming it takes a whole lot more. You also need a graphics card just to run the desktop... Plus the whole UAC thing...

This is a dumb statement. Even XP 32-bit can recognise 3gb of ram. If there is a 2gb limit on the ram in the netbook then it is only due to size restrictions of the case. And bitrates, wtf. Last i checked OS's weren't capable of playing in Media Player.

lol FEAR is the coolest game. It might not be that scary, but play it at night, with all the lights off, by yourself and you become an adrenaline junkie in no time. Has cool gameplay to back it up too ... turning people into charred skeletons is always fun lol.

Im assuming you're getting a laptop, and the 9400m will give you perfectly playable performance on medium settings, but if you try to max out the settings you might notice performance drops - depends a bit on the rest or your system, but 4gb of ddr3 wont let you down either.

yeh um, 9400 is a really low end card. if ur only playing low graphics or older games then you will be able to run them, but probably not at full settings. can you get it upgraded, even to a 9600 or 9800 cause 9400 is really, really base model. I spose it will be all right for 2 yr old...

if u got $600 to spend then uve got a pretty good range to choose from hv u got a pcie or a pcie 2.0 m/board for that money u can probably get a good gtx 260 or 280 or maybe a gtx285 when they come down in price that is the fastest single core card on the market btw. Really worth...
