    Which Subjects Better?

Modern, but i'm clearly biased. I do both Legal and Modern, legal a bit blah but modern's awesome. I'm not a fan of ancient because so much of it is myth based, rather then fact-based.

    Notes: Typed Or Written?

It depends on the subject. For maths, i prefer to hand write because i can't be bothered to use all these fancy functions so i can type formulas. Im technologically challenged...

Best+Worst of Teacher Quotes and Habits

My year 9 english teacher: "i am good-looking. What tense is that in?" Student: "Definately past tense." My modern teacher: "Now. During the holidays you must revise revision for the up and upcoming AP1's"

    Love

Love is... *A passionate commitment to another person or thing. *A profusion of chemicals that induces a quasi-delusional state. *An unattainable concept.

    ENGLISH! (All courses welcome =D)

Awesome line up of texts you've got there. I'd love to do Alibrandi and the power of one. Both great books.

Language techniques and how they shape meaning

Yeah, what cdiz said. The general structure you should be following is the ITE structure. I. Idea. State the idea/theme. T. Technique.State the technique the composer uses to convey that idea. E. Effect. State the effect of that technique. You don't necessarily have to do it in that...

    songlyrics for change texts..

I don't see a problem with doing song lyrics. As long as they're relevant and you can analyse it sufficiantly, its all good. As for the additional texts, i don't think the medium matters all that much, but if i were you i'd choose texts that aren't so dissimilar that it's impossible to compare...

    Hsc: All Your Own Work!

Yeah we did that thing yesterday. Apparently it's supposed to be a 10hr program, yet it only took me about 20 mins. Very easy. Very pointless.

2007 State Election - Labor or the Coalition/Iemma or Debnam?

Well i can't vote, but i'd ber going for liberal. Labor has done nothing in the last decade or so that its been in power.

    What is your motivation?

Although i am self-motivated, i have to admit that a burning desire to beat my genius friend in everything serves as a key motivation for me....there's also this other girl in my english class that i am in constant and fierce competition with. Since i find the prospect of doing worse then her...

    Purpose of utopian literature

Yeah. What the older and wiser LottoX said.

    Purpose of utopian literature

er... maybe to be juxtaposed with the shortcomings of reality? Create contrast? To highlight the injustices of life? I don't know. I'm just guessing. :)

WHat are your goals, what do you want to be when you leave school?

hmm, i tend to change my mind a lot, but journalism is probably my aspiration atm...law is looking pretty good too, especially since i like legal so much. But who knows really? I'm not ready to settle on any one direction just yet.

    Techniques for english - conflict

To pseudonym 'ICX' (i know who you are) here are some film techniques you should look for during the common (yes that stupid film extract we have to view..): *Camera angles- remember upper shots symbolise authority/superiority, while lower angles shots may intimate that the character is...

what assignments have you guys been given?

I hate in-class as well. Its not just because of the lack of resources either. I also really hate the time constraints. Esp. in english, i don't think getting a question that you're expected to anwer in 45 mins is a fair assessment of your abilities, but rather, a test for how quickly you can...

    ENGLISH! (All courses welcome =D)

Omg, i'm reading Frankenstein as well. I hate how english teachers are always rambling on about how importnat it is to write SUCCINCTLY , and then they give us Frankenstein to read. Hey don't you recken Mary Shelly is really circumlocutory when she's talking about the weather or whatever, and...
