    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2008)

Re: Semester 2 Chatter Thread Handed in research project. Every word of it was written by meeeee. Now only 3 weeks of prac, a portfolio, an exam and some 25 odd hours of tutoring between me and the holidays.

What's your job and how much you earn?

Tutoring (through a company) $23 an hour. It's not worth it, because of the planning that goes into it. But I have to do 15 hours of prac outside my degree so I might as well make a little bit of money in the process. I also do either typing or working on a mobile rock climbing wall, $100...

    do people actually miss school

I miss seeing my closest friends every single day. I miss the light workload and all the free time. HSC students HATE being told this, but it's so much easier than uni. So, so much easier. I miss how delightfully naive and sheltered we all were. However. Uni. Rock on. It would be...

DIAGNOSE ME: I've got a lump under my arm, in my armpit. Could this be cancerous?

Yeah. About the size of a pea? I assumed it was a crazy ingrown or a swollen lymph gland or something, and it just went away. But by all means get it checked out.

DIAGNOSE ME: I've got a lump under my arm, in my armpit. Could this be cancerous?

Yeah I used to get that as well. They were painful little buggers, too. Did nothing about it and they went away.

How was your day at work?

Yesterday, work was terrible. People who organise school fetes are fucking morons. They set us all up in the sunshine, so by midday the wall was too hot to climb. We had to get the fireys to hose us down. The jumping castle had the same problem. We lost the shade fairly swiftly, so I was...

    motorbike test

It's much easier, especially since these bikes have a relatively high centre of gravity. They're enormous and I doubt I'd have the strength to hold them upright without feet flat on the ground. And yeah you don't need to wear a jacket, just a solid top. You're not going to be falling off. I...

    motorbike test

Yeah, even though he has the option of riding a bike to work my brother usually drives up, because it also takes FOREVER to put on all the gear.

    motorbike test

I dunno, doesn't matter anyway because I can't touch the ground when I sit on them. Edit- ah yes you're right.

    motorbike test

Yeah it's called the Stay Upright course because that's preeety much what you learn. Basic control of the bike, taking off, moving through the gears etc. Then you practice on really quiet roads. Want to go back and do it again, except we don't have a learner legal bike for me to practice...

    motorbike test

Yeah I passed it ages ago with no prior manual experience. Kept stalling it. Would be much much easier now that I drive a manual all the time. Basically you just have to not fall off and do a smooth takeoff once or twice.

Well... yeah. If you gotta fart, you gotta fart. No point denying it.

    Homosexuality in Australia

Catholicism is a branch of Christianity. All of the Christian denominations are different, but perhaps Catholicism more than the others.
