    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election Seriously, can this week can get any worse for Labor? Chris Evans will resign tomorrow, forcing a cabinet reshuffle. Poor, poor Labor.

    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election Oh dear, dear Townie. NIDS has bipartisan support. I'm sure it will be implemented in part during an abbott tenure.

    Two Second Teaching Subjects...?!

Hm. It is rather tough though choosing majors and minors when considering the employability credentials of each one.

    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election Agreed. It could of been much, much worse. However the effects of this will carry on to the all out assault during the phoney campaign - Abbott will target her trustability. It will still carry some sway.

    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election Where else would you suppose he cut? You can't have your cake and eat it too. You know what I say to those whinging families: Tough Titties

    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election ANY momentum Gillard has gained from her election announcement has been sapped by the CT affair and the ICAC findings. Sometimes I actually feel sorry for Gillard because they cannot catch a break...

    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election That may be the case Lentern, but Gillard has continually defended in CT - even holding off on his suspension ('a line has been crossed') and stating that she believes in his innocence despite some pretty hard evidence. Abbott will launch a massive attack on...

    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election Oh, how you tempt me Lentern... You have forced me to look up from My Kitchen Rules. My reasons: 1. It makes a clear distinction between governing and electioneering, between Govt and opposition. Think about it, since the 2010 election the LNP has been in...

    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election ^They'd sooner fly to Mars... Actually wait, make that Uranus. Seriously though, why Rudd paki? Or are we to believe in the first half of your username?

    Two Second Teaching Subjects...?!

Thanks for your reply (Your thoughts, Aslyum? :) ). Its ironic really. When I chose my subjects for 11/12 Geo was my least favourite subject, the one I was failing at also. I constantly toyed with the idea of dropping it until I just decided to run with it, dropping Eco. In the lead up the HSC...

    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election It's a good tactical decision by Gillard - clever politics me thinks.

    Two Second Teaching Subjects...?!

Hi again... Update. I really am doing some hard thinking. Trying to imagine what makes a person employable in terms of what they study at Uni is rather hard (and quite frankly unfair for an 18yo to make at this stage). What are your thoughts on this line up...? Double Major in Ancient and...

    The Nova Peris decision

(I preface this post with the warning that I am not, as I may appear to be so, an 'Abbott-lover') I think people are afraid that an Abbott led Govt would be good for Australia. There are few items in the Howard era which were poor, many Howard era ministers will again appear in a Lib Govt this...

Do employers look at your ATAR after uni?

Good god... An ATAR 'just' below 90 is not bad, as you seem to be inferring. In any case, employers who use ATARS as a tool to moderate and asses potential employees have clearly got a screw lose - it's an awful figure to gauge intelligence, fitness for the job etc

    Australian Political Economy

Lentern, we are talking about the guy who said: "Tony Abbott claimed that Julia Gillard has a big "target" on herself- inspiring evil people to assassinate the Prime Minister."

    Two Second Teaching Subjects...?!

You've been a great help thus far AsyLum so I wonder if I ay indulge you even further? As i said above I plan to do modern, Society and culture and legal. In my mind thats not the greatest set of subjects (mainly soc and legal) in terms of employability. I am considering doing Ancient in a...

    Australian Political Economy

An interesting observation: While in the Sydney at Martin Place I was serving the homeless with sandwiches, tea and coffee at around 9 at night. On the other end of Martin Place was the Occupy movement. As we went past they were asking around for what pizza's people wanted for dinner. They did...

    Two Second Teaching Subjects...?!

Hi there. I've filled out a preemptive internal undergraduate proposed program form as suggested before I attend the enrollment day. I've used the 'Teacher Education Program - Student Guide 2013'. I intend to do a BADipEd with a major in Modern History. I'm looking at the Suggested Pattern...
