    Scaling

Scaling is an important thing to consider during subject selection. theres a reason why the majority of students who get a 99.95 did the exact same ten units of 4u, engadv, chemistry, and physics, (the so-called "Asian 5") which is that they are the optimal scalers, and the majority of students...

The guilt is starting to kick in

There's always been a bias against low ranking schools, especially because teachers at such schools tend to be, well, suboptimal, but I feel as though it's a blessing in some ways. I didn't have to try at all and was basically given Rank 1 at everything and could spend my time doing work I felt...

Might be a lot shot but does anyone know the stats for unsw gateway entry?

Nah, you need to be going to a gateway school for a few years to be eligible. Additionally, there aren't many UNSW courses that have particularly high ATAR requirements so it wouldn't be worth it. If your school is good enough to not be gateway, you should be good enough to get the 85 or...

The guilt is starting to kick in

Hey, what you're describing is almost exactly how I felt and it turned out fine with me getting a 99+ ATAR at a rank 550+ school. The problem is you've bought into teacher's unfounded notion that the only way to do well in HSC is to write and revise notes and do textbook work and blah blah...

    Edrolo

Depends on subject. It's very valuable for rote subjects like Modern. My civil rights responses in last years hsc were all just rote learnt regurgitation from Edrolo and that topic got 24/25 Raw. Never used it for sciences 🤷‍♂️

Might be a lot shot but does anyone know the stats for unsw gateway entry?

Everyone at my rank 550 school who applied got an offer, but only a few students got guarenteed. There is a much heavier weighting on the marks than the personal statement and no matter how good your personal statement is its unlikely to get a guarenteed offer unless your Prelim marks are close...

Might be a lot shot but does anyone know the stats for unsw gateway entry?

They don't look at the personal statement. A friend of mine uploaded a maths past paper as his personal statement and got guarenteed offer. Another just put a chatgptd response in and got actl/cs offer.

Chances of getting a 99+ atar

At all possible to resit Chem? thats whats killing

    Stressing about results

This is actually a bit of a myth. In internal mark moderation they look at relative mark distribution; if youre 1 mark away from r1 as an r2 vs being 20 marks away from r1 as an r2, it makes a massive difference to your internal mark.

my guy pem is universally considered the easiest company paper alongside ace

    Question

I asked when they called -> yes, even if you mystery mark you get it!

    UNSW COMPUTER SCIENCE LSR

LSR already accounts for bonus points. Lowest ATAR will be low for disadvantaged people but the LSR has taken into account all those factors.

    Calculus 1 / Maths Advanced

Not at all, US Calculus (whether it is AP Calc AB/BC or College maths) has a much greater focus on limits, which other than differentiation by first principles isn't touched in Advanced (we don't even do basic evaluation limits, let alone l'hopitals rule, and the current syllabus for adv doesn't...
