I wrote it was aimed at young men; potential recruits who were fit and able to join the army. Also the ad had a woman in it so I related that to the 'duty to your girlfriends/wives' feeling the government tried to permeate.

I have this on DVD from the USA - not as entertaining as Nightmare Before Xmas but still a good movie... the musical score is great and all the scenes are really detailed. It's kinda short but everything fits together perfectly.

^^ Good desicion... unfortunately I was seated at the very front of the examination hall where the supervisors kept their evil glares on me the whole time. Unrelated, but the best part of the whole SC exams was irritating the supervisors by continously dropping my spare pen on the ground.
