I'm in that sort of scenario albeit with bonus points.
I've got an ATAR of 88 and achieved a total of 4 bonus points through UNSW. I'm looking at Journalism @ UNSW which has a cut-off of 91. Would you think bonus points are reliable in this case?...Also worried about the fluctuating of ATAR's...
Don't go about generalising. There are so many Asians who don't give two flying shits about their ATAR, not that it's a good thing or anything.
Stereotyping is just so off these days.
Hey there, just needed to clear this up.
My tutor says there's a change this year, we need to supplement three related texts with 3 set texts... eg. Area of study: 3 poems from Immigrant Chronicles and 3 Belonging Related Texts. Whereas, our teacher says we just need a standard 2-2...
Smarter not harder, would revising your old notes be studying smarter? It seems like a waste of time.
Writing out a short story and refining it as well as reading Frankenstein seems pretty efficient to me :)
Holy shit, seems like almost everybody achieved an ATAR of 90+
You all make it seem easier than it is, a big congratulations to all the 09ers!
Here comes to o'10ers.

Is anyone else finding themselves skipping school days to study at home?!
Like honestly, these past few weeks, almost half my teachers are out of school for a particular reason and thus we have subs, but this means everyone is chatting their arses off and so I can't help but join in... I can't...
Luckily for us, we were given our 2 extended responses a week in advance, worth 10 marks each, in which we have to refer to 2 sources each in a time period of an hour.
The questions are as follows:
"To what extent was the Ludendorff Offensive responsible for Allied Victory in 1918?"
"Assess...
What's up with everyone and taking dot points on a word doc. on the computer after school?
I traditionally write up everything I need to know + homework questions in my excercise book and I'd look over it before an exam.
Cheers for the tips guys, appreciate it. Guess there is not overly much I can study for, but rather give it my best shot next Friday! I'm nervous, being it my first assessment that actually counts towards my ATAR.
Ouft, nice! 3 years and already 15 fights.
Don't have time to commit myself to fights yet, but as of far 3-0.
Second fight: head kick KO, head kicks are the way to go (Y)
With other street fighters yes, but up against kickboxing, muay thai, mma etc. it's simply one-dimensional and not enough...
Lol Aerath, I know what reading tasks are, but my assessment is a listening/viewing task - a video clip. I don't know how to prepare for such a task.
+1 jack, great tips.
Trying my best to study for this listening/viewing task! I'm not completly sure how to study for it :(
My worst fear will be stuffing up my first assessment task... If I go well in the first exams, I can usually keep up the streak. I'm already nervous lol.
Everyone is definately competitive...
I've always sucked at analysing short clips and then answering a number of short answer questions. There are almost no threads giving advice on this sort of assessment oddly enough as this sort of assessment is very common across the board, so I'd thought I should start my own thread.
The...
Hey, it's going well.
Solid 3 hours of study per night and leisurely, easy, outgoing weekends, I'm enjoying it and I feel like I'm making good progress :)
Can't wait for my first assessment task - English! A damn listening/viewing task, hate them. Have you seen any threads on these sort of...
