Exactly what I am felling at the moment. It sucks because you really can't do a double degree either.
I am thinking a part time job whilst doing my degree may be the best approach.
Do you mean landed as in straight out of uni? because that would be understandable.but to think that only one person has made to into IB with a BCom (acc/fin) is surprising.
but i suppose of you are right for the job, it doesnt matter what degree you have.
Would com/law be useful even if you are not considering the law part at all? Would a straight out com degree in finance and accounting be a better option?? I know I want to move toward the finance sector, just struggling on degree choice/ majors.
Does anyone have recommendations for a degree choice, if I want to end up in a front office role?? I am thinking of starting as a financial analyst and moving from there. Any tips/ comments would be helpful.
What about ops compared to finance?? Is the level of maths different. Do u learn the maths required on the job?? Also u only receive 30k for a year full time?? I guess it is more the experience u r after then the money... Does a cadetship hold much leverage toward other financial jobs post uni...
So did u accept at UBS?? If not, why??
What interview process did they operate last year??
If it is not too rude, what was the pay they offered?
You work full-time for the first few years and go to uni part time. After a few years (usually at least 2) you go to full-time uni and work 1-2 days...
Quick Question for Seremify, what majors would you suggest for a commerce liberal or international studies degree. I was thinking Finance and Accounting but i am not sure whether those are too generic? what are your thought??
